We have reached week nine of the NBA season and there are no doubts going to be some things that happen in the next week that surprise us all. With that in mind let’s break down my five bold NBA predictions for the next week.
Warriors win next three games by at least ten points
The Golden State Warriors are finally getting healthy and it has shown with the results on the court. In the Warriors last game they beat the Bucks by ten points, and that’s even with the offense scoring only 105 points. The Warriors next three games are against the Raptors at home, away for a game against the Kings, and home against the Grizzlies.
Everyone will have their eyes on the Raptors game and there is no doubt that Oracle will be rocking and the team is going to want to make a statement.
I think that game will get ugly early and they should win that game by 15 points or more.
The 76ers issues get worse
Jimmy Butler drove himself out of Minnesota and there are already some grumblings that his presence isn’t welcome in Philly. They have been winning but Joel Embiid has made it clear he doesn’t like his new role on the team, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Butler can rub people the wrong ways and maybe these two stars won’t be able to mesh. I don’t think that Embiid’s offense is going to get any better and there will be more grumblings out of Philly.
This issue is going to get worse before it gets better.
Suns offense gets worse
The Suns offense has struggled to score 100 points and each of the last two games they haven’t scored above 98 points. Without Devin Booker leading the offense they looked lost and now there is talk they could trade Trevor Ariza.
The next few games are against the Spurs, Mavericks, and the Wolves, all three teams that can lock down on the defensive side of the ball.
I don’t think they will score above 100 points in any of the three games.
There is a surprise firing
If the Rockets can’t get a trade done to improve their team I think they could be looking for a new GM. Tilman Fertitta made it clear that he didn’t buy a team to just make the playoffs, he wants to win championships.
The Rockets are off to a terrible start and it’s clear the offseason moves haven’t worked out. I think Daryl Morey could be on his way out of Houston and if not, his seat is getting very hot.
Lakers continue to role
The Lakers are going to continue to role and they have the perfect stretch of games to make it happen. Their next four games are against the Hornets, Wizards, Nets, and Pelicans and they really should have no issue winning all of the games.
LeBron James is going to average at least 30 points over the stretch and the buzz in LA is only going to grow.
