This article will serve the same purpose as last week’s with the nfl weather report for each game in week 8. Weather can affect the game if it is rainy, windy or the temperature is cold. The later we get into the season the cooler the temperatures will be for teams that play outdoors in the northern portion of the United States. Let’s take a look at this week’s games and see how the weather may play a part in the decisions.
Dolphins vs Texans: Game is in a dome, so weather will not play a factor.
Eagles vs Jaguars: The temperature will be in the low 50s/upper 40s with a 40% chance of rain and wind out of the NNE at 10 to 20 mph. The rain will make the field sloppy and could affect the point total in this one.
Buccaneers vs Bengals: The temperature will be in the 50s with a 50% chance of rain and wind out of the WSW at 8 mph. With rain these two teams will be forced to call more running plays which the Buccaneers do a much better job at stopping than the pass. The total will likely also go under because of the rain.
Browns vs Steelers: The temperature will be in the 40s with a 40% chance of rain and wind out of the WSW at 7 mph. With the cooler temperatures and rain I look for more run plays to be called in this one which would affect the total in this one.
Broncos vs Chiefs: The temperature will be in the 50s with a 20% chance of rain and wind out of the WNW at 17 mph. The wind could affect this game some, but overall I don’t expect the weather to play much of a factor in this game.
Redskins vs Giants: The temperature will be in the 50s with a 40% chance of rain and wind out of the N at 10 mph. The rain could affect the total in this one and could force both teams to run the ball more which the Redskins do a better job than the Giants.
Jets vs Bears: The temperature will be in the 40s with a 50% chance of rain and winds out of the N at 7 mph. The wind chill will be a factor as will the rain. I expect both teams to be more run oriented in this game and play ball control offense.
Seahawks vs Lions: The game is in a dome, so weather will not play a factor.
Ravens vs Panthers: The temperature will be in the 60s with a 10% chance of rain and wind out of the W at 7 mph. Weather will likely not play a factor in the outcome of this match-up.
Colts vs Raiders: The temperature will be in the 60s with a 10% chance of rain and wind out of the WSW at 13 mph. Weather will likely not play a factor in the result of this game.
49ers vs Cardinals: The temperature will be in the 80s with a 0% chance of rain and wind out of the E at 4 mph. Weather will not play a factor in this game.
Packers vs Rams: The temperature will be in the 80s with a 0% chance of rain and wind out of the SW at 4 mph. Weather will not be a key factor in this game.
Saints vs Vikings: The temperature will be in the 40s with a 40% chance of rain and wind out of the NW at 10 mph. I look for both teams to feature their running attacks with the rain as well as the cooler temperatures.
Patriots vs Bills: The temperature will be in the 40s with a 60% chance of rain and wind out of the WSW at 10 mph. With rain likely and the cooler temperatures it will be more difficult to throw the ball in these conditions.
