Week 6 NFL Props: Best Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bets – Joe Mixon makes his mark

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon (28) pulls a coin from his first band and flips it in the end zone after running in a touchdown in the first quarter of the NFL Week 18 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023.

The Kansas City Chiefs have already picked up a win in Week 6 of the NFL season and now we turn our attention to Sunday. It begins early with a London game between the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans and wraps up with Sunday Night Football featuring the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills.

From beginning to end there are plenty of enticing touchdown scorer options on the betting market. Let’s look at my best such props for Week 6.

Favored to score: Joe Mixon, RB, CIN (-130)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

I’m not a big proponent of the “he’s due” argument, but…well…Joe Mixon is due. The Cincinnati Bengals’ running back has scored only 1 touchdown this year (Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams), but he found the end zone 9 times throughout the 2022 regular season so you know he has the potential. Quarterback Joe Burrow finally had a productive game last week, but he has been less than 100% due to a calf injury and Cincinnati’s passing game just hasn’t been quite the same. Mixon will have to continue shouldering a lot of the load. The Seattle Seahawks have already surrendered 5 TDs on the ground, so this sets up well for the Bengals’ RB1.

Mid-tier pick: Jordan Addison, WR, MIN (+195)

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson is out (he will miss at least 4 games on injured reserve). That means Jordan Addison will become an even bigger part of the offense for Sunday’s matchup with the Chicago Bears. This is a Chicago team that is horrible all around and especially bad at defending the pass. The Bears are giving up 286.0 passing yards per game and have already allowed 12 touchdowns through the air (only the Denver Broncos have given up more, and they already played this week). Addison already has 19 catches for 249 yards and 3 TDs this season, including a score last weekend against Kansas City.

Longshot: Cade Otton, TE, TB (+275)

Line available at Bet365 Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

The Detroit Lions have been getting absolutely abused by opposing tight ends this season, so Cade Otton of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should be able to capitalize on this opportunity. Detroit has given up the most fantasy points to that position this season while allowing more than 11 catches and 130 yards per game to TEs. Otton found the end zone once last week during a 26-9 victory over the New Orleans Saints, who watched him catch 3 of 4 targets. The 2022 fourth-round pick out of Washington caught all 6 of his targets in a Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears, so he is a trusted target of QB Baker Mayfield.
