Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season kicked off with an erratic but entertaining Thursday Night Football game between the Eagles and Vikings. It was a predictably offensive affair won by Philadelphia 34-28. As usual, Jalen Hurts accounted for touchdowns with both his arm and his legs, while D’Andre Swift scored a TD to go along with his 175 rushing yards.

Now we are focusing on the best touchdown scorer NFL prop bets to make for the remainder of the Week 2 slate.

Ravens vs Bengals touchdown scorer pick: Gus Edwards, RB, BAL (+200)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

JK Dobbins is out; Edwards is in. That’s the RB1 situation in Baltimore after Dobbins suffered a torn Achilles’ in Week 1 (that’s right; Aaron Rodgers wasn’t the only player who went down with that injury right away this season). Edwards didn’t do anything in the season opener, but the backfield now belongs to him (mostly, at least) and he gets to face a Cincinnati squad that just gave up 206 rushing yards on 5.2 attempts against Cleveland. At +200, Edwards has outstanding value.

Seahawks vs Lions touchdown scorer pick: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, DET (+150)

Odds available at BetRivers Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Gibbs should have scored a touchdown against the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in Week 1, but he slipped en route to the endzone. At least the Lions still managed to win, but Gibbs has to wait to deliver his first career touchdown. He shouldn’t have to wait long. The rookie out of Alabama has a favorable matchup with a Seahawks defense that just gave up 30 points to a Rams offense that is not expected to be very good. Seattle had the third-worst rushing defense in the NFL last season and gave up 21 touchdowns on the ground, tied for the fifth most in the NFL.

Chargers vs Titans touchdown scorer pick: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, TEN (+190)

Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing.

The Chargers got absolutely humiliated by Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins in Week 1. Tagovailoa threw for 466 yards and 3 touchdowns as Miami prevailed 36-34. Now, it goes without saying that the Titans are not the Dolphins – especially not in the passing department. Still, this is a good matchup for Hopkins and QB Ryan Tannehill. Hopkins fared relatively well against New Orleans last Sunday, going for 65 yards on 7 receptions. Much unlike the Bolts, the Saints may have one of the best defenses in the league. It should also be noted that Tannehill targeted Hopkins 13 times. If D-Hop gets even close to that number this week, you can bet he is finding the endzone.

BetRivers is one of the biggest sportsbooks in America, and right now they are giving new customers up to $250 in bonus bets if their first bet loses. There’s no catch, that’s all there is to it! Click this link to join BetRivers.
