It’s getting down to crunch time in the NFL, with two weeks remaining in the regular season, the action is heating up, and along with that so are many injuries. Here is a look at the nfl key injury heading into week 16:
Aaron Jones – Packers
Jones suffered a knee injury during the Packers loss to the Bears in the second quarter and did not return for Green Bay. It doesn’t seem to be a significant injury, but with only two games remaining for the Packers, it wouldn’t be a shock if he won’t play the rest of the season. The Packers only had one running back on their active roster on Sunday, after the Jones injury along with full-back Dan Vitale. Williams finished with 12 carries for 55 yards and four catches for 42 yards. Expect that Williams will get the bulk of the carries, and perhaps the Packers bring in another back just for insurance.
Frank Gore – Dolphins
Gore’s season is over, as he suffered a left ankle/ foot injury in the first quarter against the Vikings. Rookie Kaleb Ballage got a bulk of the carries and even had a 75-yard touchdown run. Expect him to see a lot of action in the Dolphins final two games. Gore has had a solid season in his first year in Miami, but this injury will end the season for him.
Keenan Allen – Chargers
Allen suffered a hip injury during the Chargers win in Kansas City last Thursday night. He attempted to return to the game but ultimately shut it down. It is unknown if he will be ready for the Chargers remaining regular-season games. The Chargers look set for a deep run in the playoffs, and Keenan Allen would help a lot in their cause. Hopefully, the hip injury won’t keep Allen out for too long.
Eddie Jackson – Bears
Jackson suffered a right ankle sprain, in the Bears victory over the Packers on Sunday. Jackson had recorded his sixth interception of the season, right before the injury. Jackson has taken three of those picks back for scores this season. He has been a big part of the NFC N0rth Divison Champions Chicago Bears defense this season, and if he can’t go these final weeks of the season, the Bears better hope he will be ready for the playoffs.
Logan Ryan – Titans
Ryan came up injured in the fourth quarter during a running play by the Giants Saquan Barkley. He limped to the sideline and received medical attention, and did not return for Tennessee. He was later seen in the locker room on crutches. This looks like something that will keep Ryan out for the Titans final games. This is a major impact on the Titans secondary as the Titans also lost Kenny Vaccaro on Sunday to a concussion.
Todd Gurley – Rams
Gurley suffered a knee injury during the Rams Sunday night loss but did return to the game. Gurley said he returned so that meant he was fine. Head coach Sean McVay also said he will be checked out. The Rams have fallen off the ledge in the last couple weeks, as they have lost their last two games to the Bears and Eagles. The Rams without Gurley could be in trouble. They will need him at 100 percent if they want to make a deep playoff run.
Brandon Shell – Jets
Shell is done for the season, after suffering a knee injury against the Houston Texans on Saturday. It appears to be a significant injury, which could affect his availability for the next training camp. Sam Darnold could be almost unprotected in the Jets final two games with Shell being out.
