We have reached week 12 of the NBA season and the injuries are continuing to wreak havoc on the league. Let’s breakdown some of the key injuries.
Aron Baynes Celtics Center
Aron Baynes is still recovering from hand surgery and is expected to be out at least another week. If there are no setbacks he should be able to return to game action by the end of next week.
Cody Zeller Hornets Center
Cody Zeller also is dealing with a hand injury that required surgery. He is expected to be out until at least the beginning of next month.
Kevin Love Cavaliers Power Forward
Kevin Love is still recovering from a toe injury and when he is back still seems to be unclear. It would be shocking if he returns to the court before the middle of February.
Will Barton Nuggets Shooting Guard
Mike Malone announced that Will Barton is still a couple weeks away from Will Barton returning. The Nuggets keep winning even with all the injury issues but once he is back that will be a big boost.
Isaiah Thomas Nuggets Point Guard
Every week we give an update on Isaiah Thomas’s hip injury and every time the update seems to be the same, no one is really sure when he will be back.
DeMarcus Cousins Warriors Center
DeMarcus Cousins is closer and closer to returning and it should only be a matter of time now before he is back. Once he gets back it’s only another boost to the defending champs.
Chris Paul Rockets Point Guard
Chris Paul is still dealing with a hamstring injury and the next update is expected around the end of the month. James Harden has been on fire without him in the lineup and the team has managed just fine.
LeBron James Lakers Small Forward
LeBron James got lucky not having a serious groin injury and at this point is considered day to day. The best guess would be that he returns sometime next week and the Lakers can’t wait to have him back.
Dillon Brooks Shooting Guard Grizzlies
Dillion Brooks has been announced as out for the season with a toe injury. This is a big loss for a team that was really counting on him this year.
Nerlens Noel Thunder Power Forward
Nerlans Noel suffered a nasty looking injury when he got in the way of an Andrew Wiggins dunk attempt and actually had to be carted off the floor. He did suffer a concussion but he didn’t suffer any fractures which is good news and he should only be out until he clears the concussion protocol.
Devin Booker Suns Shooting Guard
Devin Booker hasn’t been able to stay healthy this year and is now dealing with a back injury. It seems this is one of those injuries that could keep him out a few days or a few weeks.
Markieff Morris Wizards Power Forward
Markieff Morris is dealing with a neck injury and is expected to be out until near the end of February. If there is any doubt look for them to bring him back really slow.
