The NBA season roars on and with every passing week it seems there are more and more injuries that have an effect on the league. Let’s break down some of the key injuries and what effect they are having on the league.
Kent Bazemore Shooting Guard Hawks
Kent Bazemore suffered an ankle injury this last week and is expected to be out at least two weeks. This will be a good chance for some of the younger guys to get more playing time.
Cody Zeller Center Hornets
Cody Zeller broke his hand over the weekend and it’s unclear how long he will be out but it will be a while. It should also be known in the next couple of days if he will need surgery.
Kevin Love Power Forward Cavaliers
Kevin Love is still dealing with a toe injury and it’s unclear when he will be back but it’s expected to be at least a couple more weeks. He has also been involved in trade rumors so maybe his next start will be a different team.
Isaiah Thomas Point Guard Nuggets
Isaiah Thomas is still dealing with the hip injury and it’s unclear how much longer he will be out. They keep doing updates but the updates don’t really clear up exactly how much longer he will be out.
Chris Paul Point Guard Rockets
Chirs Paul said on Tuesday he has no clue when he will return from his hamstring injury so that probably doesn’t spell good news for Rockets fans. Until then it will have to continue to be the James Harden show who has had no issue stepping up while he is gone.
LeBron James Small Forward Lakers
LeBron James is still dealing with a groin injury and will probably be a game-time decision until he is back. If he doesn’t play in the next game it shouldn’t be too much longer before he enters back into the lineup. Don’t be surprised when he gets back if they work him in slowly.
Jeff Teague Point Guard Timberwolves
Jeff Teague is dealing with an ankle injury that wasn’t supposed to make him miss anytime and now he has been out a few weeks. It’s unclear when he will be back but it will probably be a game to game thing at this point.
Markelle Fultz Point Guard Sixers
Markelle Fultz is still dealing with his shoulder injury and no one knows when he will be back. He could be back this week or miss the rest of the season and neither of those options would be very surprising.
Marvin Bagley Power Forward Kings
Marvin Bagley has already been out two weeks because of a bad knee bruise and the expectation is that he will be out for at least another two. It didn’t seem like a serious injury at the time but it is clearly still a bother.
John Wall Point Guard Wizards
The biggest news to come out of the last week surrounds John Wall who elected to have surgery on his foot and now will miss the rest of the season. It will be interesting what moves might come next for the Wizards who could be big sellers at the trade deadline.
