EPL pick today: Crystal Palace +0.5 over Tottenham Hotspur (-135), 3:00 pm ET
Tottenham began 2023 with a whimper rather than a bang, losing 2-0 to Aston Villa, and pressure is starting to mount on manager Antonio Conte. Spurs are now 14 points adrift of league leaders and rivals Arsenal and they looked sluggish in their game on New Year’s Day, managing only 2 shots on target. They have picked up only 1 point from 2 games since their return to action after the World Cup, with the other match being a tie with Brentford.
Four of Crystal Palace’s 6 Premier League wins this season have come at Selhurst Park and, while there is still plenty of work to be done by manager Patrick Vieira, the Eagles concluded 2022 with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve. Locked in the mid-table positions, Palace has a good chance to at least avoid defeat on their own field against inconsistent Spurs.

College basketball pick today: Penn State Nittany Lions vs Michigan Wolverines – Over 141.5 points, 7:00 pm ET
The over is the recommended bet in this game, as both offenses should be able to score efficiently on the opposing defense. Penn State is arguably the nation’s best pick-and-roll offense at the moment. Per Synergy, the Nittany Lions rank in the 99th percentile in pick and roll, which is exactly the way to score on Michigan’s defense.
On the other end, Hunter Dickinson should be able to exploit a smaller Penn State frontcourt. Dickinson is coming off a game in which he scored 32 points on 13/16 shooting and it’s possible we will see something similar. Per Hoop-Math, Penn State ranks just 246th in field-goal percentage defense at the rim, therefore backing the over looks to be the best play.

NBA pick today: Portland Trail Blazers -1.5 over Minnesota Timberwolves (-110), 8:10 pm ET
This game has a small spread but the market may be overreacting to the win that Minnesota had in its last game against Denver. The Timberwolves are going to have a hard time containing the Portland backcourt and without Karl-Anthony Towns they do not want to get into too many battles where they are trading buckets. For that reason, backing the Trail Blazers to win and cover will be the play.

NHL pick today: Dallas Stars ML over Anaheim Ducks (-205), 10:00 pm ET
The Dallas Stars travel to Anaheim to take on the Ducks for the second time this season. Dallas was in action last night and suffered a 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. Despite playing the tail-end of a back-to-back, they come into tonight as heavy favorites.
Anaheim is a rebuilding team and struggles on all fronts. The Ducks are allowing over 4 goals per game and scoring just 2.24 per contest. In their first meeting of the season, Dallas had no trouble securing a 5-0 win and Anaheim hasn’t got any better since. Barring a miracle in goal, Dallas should be able to dominate this game from start to finish and win with ease.
