MLB pick today: Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 over Washington Nationals (-145), 1:05 pm ET

Happy Patrick Corbin day! The veteran southpaw is a continual fade spot at this point in his career and I will gladly do so here. Tampa Bay is on the road which ensures they will bat for all 9 innings, an important factor when considering a bet on the run line. They have the advantage in every aspect of this matchup and despite trailing 6-5 entering the 9th inning on Tuesday they easily covered the run line in that game, winning 10-6. Tampa Bay has covered the run line in all 5 games so far this season with an average margin of victory of 5.2 runs per game. For that reason, backing the Rays on the run line will be the play.

MLB pick today: San Francisco Giants vs Chicago White Sox – Under 7.5 runs (-115), 2:10 pm ET

The best pitching matchup of the day takes place in the South Side of Chicago. Logan Webb will toe the rubber for the visiting Giants, and he will be countered by Dylan Cease for the White Sox. The pair of aces were incredible on Opening Day, as they both had double-digit strikeouts.

Cease might have had the best Opening Day start of any pitcher. He had the tough task of facing the defending World Series Champions, and he exceeded all expectations. He went 6.1 innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 10 Houston hitters. But even more impressively, Cease did not allow a walk. Cease will head home for his first start at Guaranteed Rate Field, where the ace was nearly unhittable last season. He allowed a .185 batting average with a .262 OBP in 18 starts at home, and he allowed more than 3 earned runs in just 2 outings. In a battle of aces, the under will be our play this afternoon.

EPL pick today: Brentford +0.5 over Manchester United (+125), 3:00 pm ET

Manchester United was no match for Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Sunday, being convincingly beaten 2-0 in a limp display that saw the Red Devils register only 1 shot on target. That makes United look poor value on the money line and the Bees, who played their part in a thrilling 3-3 tie with Brighton on Saturday, could frustrate the home team.

Brentford is 7th in the Premier League, only 7 points behind United, and has already won at Manchester City and tied at Arsenal this season. For that reason, backing Brentford to at least get a point out of this game will be our play.

NHL pick today: Tampa Bay Lightning vs New York Rangers Under 6 goals (-110), 7:37 pm ET

Both head-to-head matchups have gone under the total very comfortably. The Rangers won the first game by a score of 3-1, and the Lightning won the second game by a score of 2-1. Despite the star power up and down both rosters, their game totals have stayed low because they both have strong goal prevention, are well-coached, and have great goalies. Going further back than this season’s games, the under has hit in the last 7 consecutive matchups between these teams dating back to the playoffs last year. When the Lightning and Rangers meet, totals stay low. For that reason, backing the under will be our play.
