Champions League pick today: Napoli vs AC Milan – Over 2.5 goals (+135), 3:00 pm ET

Two Italian heavyweights do battle when Napoli visits Milan in the first leg of this Champions League quarterfinal this afternoon. Napoli won the first meeting this season 2-1, while Milan scored a stunning 4-0 road win when they met again in Serie A just 10 days ago.

The first 2 meetings featured over 2.5 goals, and that bet has also cashed in 6 of Napoli’s 8 Champions League games this season. For that reason, backing the over will be our play for this game.

Champions League pick today: Real Madrid ML over Chelsea(-160), 3:00 pm ET

Chelsea fired its latest coach and has brought back former manager Frank Lampard on an interim basis hoping he can inspire the Blues to an unlikely Champions League success. Standing in the way of the underachieving London club are holders Real Madrid, who have met the Blues in this competition in each of the last two seasons. Chelsea’s EPL form has been poor, with just 2 wins in their last 11 games, therefore backing Real Madrid to win this first leg match will be our play.

MLB pick today: St. Louis Cardinals vs Colorado Rockies – Over 12.5 runs (-120), 3:10 pm ET

This afternoon’s matchup will see Jack Flaherty for the Cardinals taking on Jose Urena for the Rockies. Through 2 starts this season, Urena has allowed 10 runs and 12 hits with 7 walks in just 5 innings. That’s a .462 batting average and an absurd 1.520 OPS. In his last start against the Nationals, Urena allowed 2 homers and 6 runs without being able to finish 3 innings.

Flaherty has allowed only 4 hits in 10 innings, but is tied with Edward Cabrera with the most walks allowed at 13. Flaherty has been able to work around those walks and has allowed only 2 runs this season. However, his 5.23 xERA indicates that he’s been getting very lucky. Regardless, Urena can almost never be trusted to shut down any offense, especially an offense like the Cardinals, which ranks 5th in batting average and 11th in OPS against right-handed pitching. For that reason, backing the over will be our play.

MLB pick today: Washington Nationals +1.5 over Los Angeles Angels (-135), 4:07 pm ET

The Nationals and Angels will wrap up their series this afternoon, having split the first 2 meetings. MacKenzie Gore will make the start for the Nationals and is off to a hot start. He gave up only 1 run to the Braves in his first outing, and he survived a Colorado appearance last week with only 2 runs in 6 innings.

The Nationals have hit the ball far better than anyone expected, and they have been especially good at keeping the ball in play and limiting strikeouts. For that reason, backing the Nationals on the run line will be our play.
