MLB pick today: Pittsburgh Pirates vs Detroit Tigers – Under 7.5 runs (-102), 1:10 pm ET
Detroit’s Eduardo Rodriguez has been nearly perfect this season. He comes into this afternoon’s game with a 1.57 ERA in 8 starts, and over his last 6 starts, his ERA is 0.43. It’s not as if he’s stranding a lot of baserunners either since he’s allowed 4 hits or less in 6 of his 8 starts this season while also posting the lowest walk rate of his career (5.3%).
The Pirates will counter with 43-year-old Rich Hill in this game, who has a record of 3-3 and an ERA of 4.35. However, Detroit is in the middle of the pack when it comes to offense against left-handed pitchers, so really neither team has a huge advantage offensively. For that reason, backing the under will be our play.

Champions League pick today: Manchester City ML over Real Madrid (-165), 3:00 pm ET
It could be another banner week for Manchester City with the Premier League title and a place in the Champions League final up for grabs, and they should start things right with a comfortable win over Real Madrid.
Since the end of February, Pep Guardiola’s men have won 16 of their last 18 matches, while at the Etihad, they’ve won their last 15 games in all competitions. Given their blistering form, backing Manchester City to win this game and advance to the final will be our play.

MLB pick today: Atlanta Braves vs Texas Rangers – Under 7.5 runs (-105), 8:05 pm ET
The best pitching matchup of the day takes place in Arlington, Texas, as Spencer Strider takes the mound for the Braves and Nathan Eovaldi toes the rubber for the Rangers. The Braves star has a 2.51 ERA after 8 starts and has an xBA of .174 with a strikeout rate of 42.9%.
Eovaldi on the other had, had a 5.20 ERA following his 5th start of the season, but has since thrown 8 scoreless innings against the Angels and 8.2 scoreless innings against the Athletics. The right-hander will face a Braves team that has demolished left-handed pitching, but ranks below average against right-handers, therefore backing the under will be our play.

NBA pick today: Miami Heat +8 over Boston Celtics (-108), 8:30 pm ET
This spread with the extra rest for Miami is far too much and the Heat should continue to perform well in dogfights on the road in the playoffs. Miami is a league-best 8-3 against the spread in the playoffs and Boston is just 9-10 against the spread this season on two to three days of rest and 5-8 against the spread since the All-Star break when favored by at least 8 points. For that reason, backing the Heat will be our play.
