Life is just better when we have midweek action in the Mid-American Conference. And boy do we have MACtion this week.

On the heels of three such games on Tuesday, another trio will take center stage in the college football world on Wednesday night. Bowling Green, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Ball State, Kent State, and Central Michigan are the next MAC representatives that are taking the field. Northern Illinois and Ball State are separated by just a half-game at the top of the West Division standings, so that is an especially important showdown.

With three more games on offer, we have a perfect number with which to construct a potentially lucrative parlay.

Bowling Green +10 (-110)

Northern Illinois ML (+115)

Kent State ML (+115)

Parlay odds: +783

For this parlay we are going with two underdogs on the money line and one underdog against the spread. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

Bowling Green Falcons +10 over Toledo Rockets (-110)

Toledo has dominated this rivalry of late, winning 10 of the last 11 head-to-head matchups. In the past 10 years, only four games between the Rockets and Falcons have been decided by fewer than 10 points. The last time the Battle of I-75 was decided by a single-digit margin was 2016.

Bowling Green is coming into this game on a short week. The Falcons beat Buffalo 56-44 on Saturday and now turn the page pretty much right away. At least they have some momentum, though; they should be happy to get right back in gear on the heels of a win. Meanwhile, Toledo lost to Eastern Michigan in its last game—continuing wild inconsistency in 2021. I just can’t lay double-digit points with a squad that can’t really sustain any success. It is also worth noting that the Rockets are 1-3 ATS this season when they favored over fellow MAC teams.

Northern Illinois Huskies ML over Ball State Cardinals (+115)

Northern Illinois is a solid 6-3 this season, with its best win coming via a 22-21 decision against Georgia Tech in Week 1. The Huskies have won five of their last six games, including four of their last five MAC contests. Both UNI and Ball State are much better on offense than they are on defense. The Huskies average 31.7 and allow 33.8 points per game, while Ball State averages 25.2 and allows 27.6 points per contest. I think Northern Illinois’ superior offense (averaging almost 100 more yards per game than Ball State) will be the bigger difference on Wednesday. The Huskies’ defense may not be stellar, but they can control the game—and the clock—with their rushing attack. Their best defense will be keeping the Cardinals off the field.

Kent State Golden Flashes ML over Central Michigan Chippewas (+115)

Central Michigan will have its hands full with Dustin Crum and the Golden Flashes’ potent passing attack. Kent State got out to a slow start in non-conference play against Power 5 opposition, but it has found its rhythm against MAC foes. Crum could be the best quarterback in the conference and he played like it a week ago, throwing for more than 320 yards to go along with 2 touchdowns while also rushing for an additional 2 scores. Don’t expect Kent State’s defense to provide any sort of resistance, so Crum and company will have to shine for the Golden Flashes to pull off the upset as small road underdogs. Get your popcorn ready, because this one should be a back-and-forth affair all night. There is solid value on Kent State as a plus-money ‘dog.
