Best Bet: Washington Wizards Under 27.5 Wins -110
Worst Bet: Washington Wizards To Win the NBA Championship 250:1
The 2018-19 Washington Wizards finished with a record of 32-50 which was the 11th best record in the Eastern Conference and the 4th best record in the Southeast division. The Washington Wizards a few seasons ago looked like they had a team that could challenge for an Eastern Conference and possibly NBA Championship, but they failed to make the playoffs last season and have been on a steady decline the past few season. John Wall is out for the season and as a result this is going to be one of the worst teams in the NBA and if anything happens to Bradley Beal, they may not win games.
Washington had one of the highest scoring teams last season ranking 7th in the NBA with 114.02 points per game, they ranked 5th in the NBA in assists per game with 26.27 and averaged 9.66 offensive rebounds per game which ranked 22nd in the NBA. Bradley Beal led the team in scoring and assists with 2,099 points and 448 assists. Thomas Bryant led the team in offensive rebounds with 113. Bradley Beal will return to the Wizards this season and will be their best player with Wall out for the season but in the games that he is out the Wizards may have trouble scoring points and picking up wins.
The Wizards were one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA last season while allowing 116.93 points per game which ranked 29th in the NBA, they averaged 32.65 defensive rebounds per game which ranked 4th in the NBA and ranked 5th in the NBA with 8.35 steals per game. Thomas Bryant led the team in defensive rebounds and blocks with 341 defensive rebounds and 67 blocks. Bradley Beal led the team in steals with 121. The Wizards will have the two major contributors on defense back this season, but they didn’t do anything to help the team out defensively in the offseason and as a result it is hard to imagine them improving on defense this season.
Washington Win Total: O/U 27.5 Wins
The Washington Wizards finished with a total of 32 wins and didn’t have an offseason where they added any significant talent to their team and outside of Bradley Beat they will have problems scoring and picking up wins which is why the total is set at a low of 27.5 wins. If anything were to happen to Beal who will be the Wizards best player this season with John Wall out this season with an injury this team would look like a semipro team playing in a professional league it would be ugly to say the least. Washington lacks any real talent outside of Beal and as a result I don’t see them doing much of anything at all this season and it’s hard to see them getting to the 28 wins needed to win the prop bet and as a result I look for the under 27.5 wins to be the best bet you can make on the Wizards this season.
Washington Wizards To Make The Playoffs: Yes +450 No -600
The Wizards aren’t going to push for a division title this season as the Heat, Hawks and Magic are all better teams this season compared to the Wizards and they finished with the 11th best record in the Eastern Conference last season. Washington failed to make any significant moves in the offseason and will rely heavily on Beal to get things done this season and in the NBA it’s hard to rely on just one player to pick up wins no matter how good the player is and Beal is not on the level needed to make the playoffs this season. Washington lacks the talent to be a playoff contender this season and at the -600 price to be against them to miss the playoffs it’s best to just stay away from this bet altogether even at a +450 longshot it still doesn’t make sense to place anything on this proposition.
Washington Wizards To Win The Southeast Division: 16:1
The Washington Wizards are going to struggle mightily this season with only have one elite level player on the team in Bradley Beal teams are going to focus in on doubling Beal and forcing below average players to defeat them this season and I don’t see any player on the Wizards being able to step up and make teams pay for playing that way. The Wizards are clearly behind the Heat, Hawks and Magic in the division and unless something catastrophic happens to all three of those teams the Wizards are not going to win the division. The 16:1 odds make look tempting to a Wizards fan but any realistic fan in the NBA knows the Wizards aren’t going to win the division and it would be a waste of money to place a wager on them doing so.
Washington Wizards To Win The Eastern Conference: 80:1
The Washington Wizards are tied with the New York Knicks in odds to win the Eastern Conference to put things in perspective. The Wizards are one of the bottom five teams in the Eastern Conference this season and a lot has to do with John Wall being out for the season due to injury. Beal is the centerpiece for the Wizards this season and there are far more talented players on other teams in the Eastern Conference for Washington to even be in talks for an Eastern Conference championship this season. The Wizards aren’t going to make the playoffs, so this bet is a no brainer STAY AWAY!
Washington Wizards To Win The NBA Championship: 250:1
The odds of Washington even making the playoffs is a long shot but at 250:1 Vegas is putting the Wizards in the bottom five teams in the NBA this season and without a healthy John Wall I have to agree with the odds that Vegas is giving Washington. The Wizards are going to struggle to win games and if Beal gets hurt or goes games with resting the Wizards will lose a lot of games and have a lot of blowout losses this season so the only talks surrounding the Wizards this season will be the odds they will get the 1st pick in next year’s NBA Draft. Don’t waste money by lighting it on fire and watching it burn with putting a wager on the Wizards to win the NBA Championship because that isn’t going to happen this season.
