UFC on ESPN 25 main card best bets

Serghei Spivac Win by Finish (-140)

Serghei Spivac comes into this fight 3-2 in the UFC, having won back to back fights. His most recent win came against Jared Vanderaa back in February of this year. This was a win by TKO/KO. Spivac is averaging 3.58 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 49 percent. He is absorbing 2.84 strikes and has a striking defense of 58 percent. His grappling has been very good, averaging 3.70 takedowns per every 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 63 percent and his takedown defense is 70 percent.

Aleksei Oleinik’s career seems to be coming to an end soon, and I cannot trust his chin to hold up here. He has lost two in a row by TKO/KO and I would look for another loss by finish to happen here for Oleinik.

Dan Ige vs. The Korean Zombie – Over 3.5 Rounds (-135)

The Korean Zombie comes into this fight 6-5 in the UFC, most recently losing to Brian Ortega back in October of 2020. This was a loss by unanimous decision. The Korean Zombie is averaging 4.15 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 41 percent. He is absorbing 4.01 strikes and has a striking defense of 56 percent. His grappling will not be too much of a factor here as he is averaging 0.62 takedowns per every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 42 percent and a takedown defense of 75 percent.

Dan Ige comes into this fight 8-2 in the UFC, most recently beating Gavin Tucker by TKO/KO back in March of this year. Ige is now averaging 3.95 significant strikes per every minute and has a striking accuracy of 46 percent. He is absorbing 3.36 strikes and has a striking defense of 58 percent. Grappling should be a little more important for Ige, as he is averaging 1.27 takedowns per every 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 27 percent and his takedown defense is 59 percent.

This is basically the most evenly matched fight on the entire card and it is hard to give the edge to one guy or the other. There could easily be a finish here, and because of that, I will be backing this fight to go over 3.5 rounds.

UFC on ESPN 25 preliminary card best bets

Matthew Semelsberger Money Line (+135)

Matthew Semelsberger comes into this fight 2-0 in the UFC, most recently beating Jason Witt by TKO/KO back in March of this year. Semelsberger is averaging 7.93 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 50 percent. He is absorbing 5.31 strikes and has a striking defense of 56 percent. His grappling has been much better than his opponent’s, averaging 1.97 takedowns per every 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 100 percent and his takedown defense is 100 percent as well. Semelsberger looks to be a much more balanced fighter, so even though he tends to be an aggressive striker, I would look for his grappling to be the difference and will back the underdog here to win this fight.
