UFC on ESPN 62 Main Card Best Bets

Caio Borralho ML over Jared Cannonier (-230)

The Main Event at UFC on ESPN 62 will see Jared Cannonier take on Caio Borralho. This will be a fight in the UFC Middleweight division.

Borralho comes into this fight with an MMA record of 16-1 and he is 8-0 in the UFC. He is averaging 2.91 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 60%. Borralho is absorbing 2.06 strikes and has a striking defense of 60%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 1.99 takedowns per every 15 minutes. Borralho’s takedown accuracy 63% and his takedown defense is 76%.

While Borralho is the clear favorite, backing him to win still looks to be the best play. His striking volume is not as high as Cannonier’s, but he has elite grappling and has never lost in the UFC. For that reason, backing Borralho to win looks like the move.

Tabitha Ricci ML over Angela Hill (-110)

The Co-Main Event at UFC on ESPN 62 will see Angela Hill take on Tabatha Ricci. This will be a fight in the UFC Women’s Strawweight division.

Ricci comes into this fight with an MMA record of 10-2 and she is 5-2 in the UFC. She is averaging 4.28 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 37%. Ricci is absorbing 4.94 strikes and has a striking defense of 60%. Her grappling has also been elite, averaging 2.99 takedowns per every 15 minutes. She has a takedown accuracy of 35% and her takedown defense is 77%.

From an odds perspective, this fight is evenly matched. However, given that Ricci has the superior grappling and has been much more consistent in the UFC, backing her to win is the play.

Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Gerald Meerschaert – Fight to Start Round 2 (-200)

The first fight on the Main Card at UFC on ESPN 62 will see Edmen Shahbazyan take on Gerald Meerschaert. This will be a fight in the UFC Middleweight division.

Shahbazyan comes into this fight with an MMA record of 13-4 and he is 7-4 in the UFC. On the other side is Meerschaert, who comes into this fight with an MMA record of 36-17 and he is 11-9 in the UFC.

Shahbazyan is the overwhelming favorite, so for this fight, we will simply be looking for Round 2 to start. Both fighters have seen 5 of their last 6 UFC fights go to at least Round 2, therefore backing the same here will be our best bet.
