UFC Fight Night 228 Main Card best bets
Mateusz Gamrot ML over Rafael Fiziev (+130)
Mateusz Gamrot comes into this fight with an MMA record of 22-2. He is 5-2 in the UFC, most recently beating Jalin Turner by split decision in March. Gamrot is averaging 3.03 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 51%. He is absorbing 3.23 strikes and has a striking defense of 60%. His grappling has been much more effective, averaging 4.54 takedowns per 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 31% and his takedown defense is 90%.
Rafael Fiziev is a moderate-sized favorite, but Gamrot has been just as good in the UFC and should have a good chance to pull the upset. In fact, Gamrot has the superior grappling, so even though his striking is not quite as strong, he absorbs less damage and will be our best bet in this fight.
Ricardo Ramos ML over Charles Jourdain (+114)
Ricardo Ramos comes into this fight with an MMA record of 16-4. He is 7-3 in the UFC, most recently beating Danny Chavez by KO/TKO in June 2022. Ramos is averaging 3.32 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 38%. He is absorbing 3.82 strikes and has a striking defense of 57%. His grappling has been elite, averaging 2.58 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 58% and a takedown defense of 72%.
Charles Jourdain is a slight favorite in this fight, but Ramos looks to be the better bet. Where Ramos lacks in striking, he makes up for it in his superior grappling. In addition to that, he absorbs much less damage compared to Jourdain, therefore backing Ramos to pull the small upset will be our play.

UFC Fight Night 228 Preliminary Card best bet
Mohammed Usman ML over Jake Collier (-135)
Mohammed Usman has an MMA record of 10-2. He is 2-0 in the UFC, most recently beating Junior Tafa by unanimous decision in April. Usman is averaging 0.92 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 27%. He is absorbing 2.62 and has a striking defense of 51%. His grappling has been decent, averaging 1.46 takedowns per 15 minutes. He also has a takedown accuracy of 15%.
Usman is the slight favorite, but looks to be worth a bet to win. Jake Collier is 1-4 in his last 5 UFC fights, so even though Usman’s stats have not been eye-popping, backing him to win and to remain undefeated in the UFC will be our play.
