Canucks -1.5 (+165)
Lightning -1.5 (+120)
Rangers vs Avalanche over 6 (-120)
Parlay odds: +968
Vancouver Canucks -1.5 (+165) over Columbus Blue Jackets
The Vancouver Canucks are rolling. One week after taking over as Vancouver’s new head coach, Bruce Boudreau became the first Canucks coach to start 4-0-0 in his first 4 games. The Canucks have won those games by a combined 12-5 margin, and all 4 wins came at home. They are at home once again, and they should be ready to roll against a Blue Jackets team that has not been great on the road. The Blue Jackets are 5-8-0 away from Columbus, and they are giving up a ton of goals on the road. In fact, only 2 teams are allowing more goals per game on the road than the Jackets (4.08).
The Canucks have allowed 1 or 0 goals in 3 of their last 4 games, and Thatcher Demko has been great in net. Demko has posted a strong .962 save percentage to go along with a 1.20 GAA in those 4 wins and he recorded a pair of shootout wins in that stretch, as well. Needless to say, he is playing with some confidence. On the other side, Columbus net minder Elvis Merzlikins has been shaky, as he has a less than stellar .886 save percentage and 3.63 GAA in his last 3 starts. Overall, with the way they are playing right now it’s hard to go against the Canucks in their own building. Look for Vancouver to keep riding their momentum to a big win.

Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (+120) over Los Angeles Kings
The Tampa Bay Lightning finally return home after a 6-game road trip. It was a successful trip, as they captured 8 of a possible 10 points. Regardless of how successful it was, any team will be glad to head back home to regain their feet. Tampa Bay goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy will be back between the pipes for the Lightning, after backing up in their road trip finale against the Ottawa Senators. That is not good news for a traveling Kings team that is averaging only 2.65 goals per game as it is. The Lightning are putting up 3.22 goals per game, which is the 9th-best mark in the league.
Los Angeles’ attempt to shut down Tampa shouldn’t be enough in this one, especially in a building where the Lightning thrive. Tampa Bay is 8-2-2 at Amalie Arena, and Vasilevskiy should be able to limit Los Angeles from going crazy offensively. Look for the Lightning to be able to take care of business against the Kings.

Rangers vs Avalanche over 6 (-120)
These teams met on Wednesday last week and 10 total goals were scored. This meeting could bring more of the same. The Avalanche have scored 45 goals in their last 10 games and lead the NHL in goals per game with 4.32. Those numbers are crazy good. New York scores what looks like a measly 2.89 goals per game compared to Colorado’s, but if those averages even hold for this game, the total will be 7.21 goals.
As good as Colorado’s offense has been, they have been allowing a lot of goals. The Avalanche are 26th in the NHL in goals against per game with 3.36. Colorado’s lackadaisical defense and goaltending will be a good matchup for the Rangers. Overall, the Avalanche score a lot of goals and let up a lot of goals. There is no reason this game should be any different.
