Week Seven of the NFL season is upon us and there are some players that just need to be in your fantasy football lineup. We will break down five players who if they are on our team can’t be left on your bench if you want a winning week.
Cam Newton (Panthers Quarterback)
Cam Newton is going against the Philadelphia Eagles who are known for having a good defense which might lead some to question if Cam Newton should stay on their bench. Don’t let Newton going against the Eagles scare you, he is going to have a big weekend.
Newton has had over 22 fantasy points in three of his five starts this year and will be facing an Eagles defense who has given up at least 24 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in every game except week one. This should be a high scoring affair and Newton should have at least a few touchdown passes.
Adam Thielen (Vikings Wide Reciever)
Adam Thielen’s name on this list should be pretty self-explanatory, especially in a PPR league, but this guy is a must start. In the last five weeks Thielen has had at least 24.5 fantasy points and he is turning into one of the most consistent wide receivers in the league. He is Kirk Cousins go to guy and even if he doesn’t score a touchdown he has enough catches to make up for it.
The Jets secondary let Andrew Luck throw four touchdowns last week and the Vikings should do about the same this week. The Vikings don’t have a great running game, so they use the short pass game to supplement the rest of the offense.
Odell Beckham Jr. (Giants Wide Reciever)
Odell Beckham Jr is, of course, a must start each week, but some of his owners seem to be thinking he needs to find a spot on the bench. Beckham is also a really good start for daily fantasy sports like DraftKings and FanDuel.
Beckham Jr is facing a Falcons defense that is really bad. They are the 4th worst defense against opposing wide receivers in terms of fantasy points allowed.
Eli Manning is also hearing the grumbles and he is going to try and get the ball to Beckham a lot.
John Brown and Michael Crabtree (Ravens Wide Receivers)
If you have both of these guys on your rosters, don’t start them together, but if you have one of these guys they need to be in your lineup.
This is a juicy matchup against the Saints who allow the most fantasy points to wide receivers. Brown is the deep threat while Crabtree will probably get more receptions but I think both of these guys will end up in the end zone.
David Njoku (Browns Tight End)
David Njoku is becoming a favorite of Baker Mayfield and when a young quarterback gets in trouble they usually turn to their tight end.
In Mayfield’s three starts Njoku has 30 targets which has resulted in 18 receptions for 176 yards and a touchdown. This is my favorite non-star start of the weekend.
