Wednesday in the NHL brings a small 3-game slate. But what it lacks in quantity it absolutely makes up for in quality. At 7:00 pm ET, the Lightning play the Rangers in New York and the Stars play the Maple Leafs in Toronto. Capping off the slate at 9:30 pm ET will be the Wild playing the Blackhawks in Chicago. While Minnesota vs Chicago does not have as much luster, the Wild are mathematically still in contention and will be playing playoff-style hockey down the stretch. These games make the middle of the week a bit more palatable. You can find out our 2 best NHL player prop bets below, but make sure you also read our NHL predictions for today’s games.
Tyler Seguin, DAL, Over 0.5 points (+100)
This sets up to be a great game between a couple of very good teams. In a game that may have a thin margin of error and come down to the wire, each team’s top players may log even more ice time than usual. Tyler Seguin is a very important player for the Stars and will be leaned on heavily tonight along with a few of his teammates. In the past month, the Stars are 9-2-1. In those 12 games, Seguin has 10 points.
Tyler Seguin has 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points on the year alone. He leads the Stars in even-strength goals and logs the 5th-most minutes of the forward group. Seguin skates on the second line with Matt Duchene and Mason Marchment, and also is on the power play. In what should be a great game, getting plus-money odds for a talented top 6 and power play forward to log a point is good value.

Kirill Kaprizov, MIN, Over 0.5 goals (+115)
The Wild had a brutal stretch last month but look better lately. They have won 3 of their last 5 games with the losses being close 1-goal games. Tonight, Minnesota has a favorable matchup in a game they need to win. As long as the Wild do not completely mail it in, they should be able to take care of the Blackhawks just fine. Chicago is in the cellar of the NHL and have lost 4 consecutive games with just 3 total goals scored.
If the Wild win the game, there is a good chance Kirill Kaprizov factored into the win. Kaprizov leads the Wild with 45 points in 42 games and is second on the team with 19 goals. He enters this game rolling to the tune of 6 goals and 11 points in the team’s last 7 games. This team will go as Kaprizov goes. Lately, he has been carrying the load and has produced the most on the team despite missing 7 games. This plus money is good value even for a goal prop.
