The NHL is back to a double-digit slate with a jam-packed 11-game schedule on Tuesday night. There are some solid division matchups, inter-conference matchups and tons of superstar talent suited up. Tonight marks the first of 3 double-digit slates before the 3-day holiday break beginning on Sunday. Things could look very different 5 days from now with plenty of potential moving and shaking. In addition to our below player props, make sure you read our NHL predictions for today’s big games.

Connor McDavid over 0.5 goals (+105)

This game has good potential to be a high-scoring matchup. The Oilers recently had an 8-game winning streak in which they scored 4.88 goals per game. Edmonton has since dropped their last 2 games by a combined score of 12-5. The Islanders have scored 4.2 goals per game in their last 10 and have allowed 5 goals in each of their last 2 games. They also have the league’s 6th-worst goal prevention. Connor McDavid and the Oilers have a good chance to break out of this short losing streak with a big performance.

McDavid has been producing like crazy to the tune of 31 points in his last 15 games. The Oilers have catapulted into playoff contention after a brutal start to the year and, to no surprise, it has coincided with McDavid’s current rampant production. McDavid gets plus-money odds to score in a favorable matchup. In what looks to be a high-scoring game, look no further than McDavid to be right in the mix.

Josh Norris over 0.5 points (-125)

The Senators are the 4th team to fire their coach this season. The other 3 teams won their first game with their interim coach. Ottawa will look to follow that trend. If teams keep buzzing on the back of a coaching change, things could look good for the Senators tonight. This is a team that entered the season with hype for the first time in years and for good reason. Ottawa has a great mix of young and veteran talent that so far has underperformed. If this team can touch their ceiling, they can skate with most teams in hockey.

If the Senators do perform well tonight, look for Josh Norris to be in the mix. He centers Ottawa’s 2nd line between Vladimir Tarasenko and Claude Giroux, as well as the top power play with Brady Tkachuk, Drake Batherson, Time Stutzle and Jake Sanderson. Norris has 3 points in his last 2 games and 4 points in his last 4 games. Look for Norris to be part of a solid Senators performance tonight.
