We’re starting to get into the thick of the NHL season now with teams firmly establishing a vision of where they want to be come the end of this campaign. With that being said, bettors like me are getting a firm grasp on which players are showing up and performing. I even brought my record up to 7-1 this season after cashing both of the NHL player props in my last article.

So, why not keep the good times rolling? There’s a solid number of exciting matchups on tap for tonight, and my NHL player props below should help you with any of your NHL betting needs today. Plus, take a peek at our NHL predictions for each game.

Alex DeBrincat (DET) over 2.5 shots on goal (-162)

We’ll begin our prop picks by targeting Red Wings star Alex DeBrincat. Dylan Larkin was just placed on IR after taking a nasty hit over the weekend, so it goes without saying that DeBrincat will be needed to step up his game even more in Larkin’s absence. Luckily for him, he’ll be going up against a Blues squad tonight that allows over 3 goals per game (19th in NHL) and nearly 33 shots (27th).

St. Louis has surrendered at least 3 goals in all but 1 of their last 6 games, and Detroit has the offensive firepower (3.7 goals per game, 2nd in league) to add to that tally. Specifically, DeBrincat should be looking to produce. He has an insane 19 shots on goal in his last 5 games played away from Little Caesars Arena, and 14 in 5 games in the month of December. With an even larger role now, he’s a solid bet to be shooting quite regularly.

Jack Eichel (VGS) over 1.5 points (+185)

We’ll round out our NHL player prop bet selections with Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights. Leading a top-10 offense in the NHL in terms of goals per game (3.3, 10th) and shots (32.3, 8th), Eichel has cemented himself as one of the top offensive players in the entire sport. He’s currently tied for 14th in the league in points this season with 32 and has had at least 1 in every game dating back to late November.

During this 7-game streak of recording at least a point, Eichel has totaled 12 points overall for an average of 1.71 points per outing. The Flames present an interesting challenge in that they don’t allow that many shots per contest (29.1, 8th), but they’re still 27th in the league regarding goals given up per game (3.4). With the way Eichel is playing at the moment, it’s hard to envision a Vegas game against any opponent where he doesn’t land on the scoresheet.
