The NHL’s 13-game slate on Saturday delivered in a big way. Sunday in hockey is a bit more calm as there are just 2 games in the NHL. First, the Blues visit the Canadiens for a 1PM ET puck drop. Then, the Capitals host the Canucks for a 1:30PM ET puck drop. While there is not a ton of games on this Sunday schedule, there is still some good betting value on the board.

You can find out our 2 best NHL player prop bets below, but make sure you also read our NHL predictions for today’s games.

Brayden Schenn, STL, Over 0.5 points (-115)

The Blues have a good chance to win their 7th in 8 games on Sunday against the Canadiens. Montreal has 2 wins in their last 7 games and 5 wins in their last 18 played at home. As mentioned, St. Louis is rolling a little bit. They need to keep collecting points if they are going to keep pace in the playoff race. Look for the Blues to come out with some jam led by Captain Brayden Schenn.

It has been a nice month for Schenn who has 5 goals and 12 points in his last 12 games. Schenn is the leader of this team and it is no coincidence that the Blues’ recent team success has coincided with Schenn’s production. He is on the team’s second line and second power play, and he logs the 4th most minutes among Blues forwards. Schenn will lead the way to a strong effort in this one and has a favorable matchup to log his 13th point in as many games.

Elias Pettersson, VAN, Over 0.5 goals (+155)

While odds of +155 may not look as palatable, it has good value considering Elias Pettersson is the 2nd most likely player by odds to score in this game. It also has good value considering how talented Pettersson is. The Canucks score the most goals per game in the NHL. On the top producing team in the NHL, Elias Pettersson co-leads in points with 68 in 52 games which includes 28 goals. This is a very good player and +155 is solid value even for an anytime goal.

It also helps that Pettersson has been rolling lately. On Saturday, he scored and had 3 points against a good Red Wings team. He also has 3 goals and 7 points in his last 4 games. Pettersson is a great player that plays with other great players and gets in great situations to produce. In a game which the Canucks are the better team in better form, they should be able to take care of business against the Capitals. That being the case, look for Pettersson to be a contributor on the scoreboard.
