This week in the NHL ends with a 5-game slate beginning at 3PM ET with the Canucks visiting the Blackhawks. The remaining games will go all through the night so hopefully you can get any obligations out of the way and enjoy the action. Out of the 5 games, at least 4 appear on paper to be fairly lopsided. With the parody in the NHL, we never know for sure. But even in lopsided matchups, there can bet good betting value on the board.

You can find out our NHL predictions for tonight’s big games, but for now, let’s dive into my best NHL prop bets.

Jack Hughes Over 0.5 goals (+100)

One such lopsided matchup with good betting value is Ducks vs Devils and Jack Hughes getting plus money to score. Hughes leads the Devils in goals with 14 and in points with 37. For any offense New Jersey can generate, there is a good chance it will go through Jack Hughes. His pure talent is no secret. This is a player that can make things happen on given night against any given team. When Jack Hughes gets a favorable matchup like this and has plus money odds for props, that is difficult to pass up.

The Ducks are on some kind of slide. They have dropped 13 out of their last 14 games and their 20 points are the 2nd least in the NHL. Anaheim makes for a favorable matchup against just about any team in the NHL, let alone a good team with elite talent like Jack Hughes. The Ducks have the league’s 6th worst goal prevention and should allow ample opportunity for Hughes to tally a goal at great value.

Mikko Rantanen Over 0.5 points (-130)

This is another game that looks to favor one side pretty heavily. The Sharks allow the most goals per game in the NHL which makes most individual player props look appetizing. The Avalanche also have their number specifically as Colorado has won the last 7 consecutive games against San Jose. The Sharks have also been prone to high totals lately as the over has hit in 5 out of their last 7 games. This is a team to target right now.

Enter Mikko Rantanen. He has 38 points in 30 games and his 14 goals leads the Avalanche. He is especially rolling lately to the tune of 2 goals and 7 points in his last 3 games. Also in those 3 games, he logged 14 shots on goal and twice played more than 25 minutes. Rantanen skates on the first line, as well as on the top power play. Against a weaker team, the opportunity will be there to get on the score sheet at least a couple of times.
