We are officially into the final week of the 2023-24 NHL season, yet there are still multiple playoff spots still to be decided. A few of the teams involved in the Wild Card races of each conference are on the ice tonight for today’s 5-game slate, but there are also teams with nothing left to play for. That can make predicting outcomes of games a bit trickier, so we also want to provide a different approach to today’s matchups by breaking down our best NHL prop bet picks.
Along with our best NHL player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.
Leon Draisaitl Over 1.5 points (+130)
Over 1.5 points (+130) available at time of publishing. Playable to +100.
Leon Draisaitl is a skater I have targeted quite often over the past 2 seasons. Given that he gets to skate alongside the great Connor McDavid, it certainly makes sense. Although they won’t finish 1-2 in the points standings again this year, they are both having remarkable seasons with over 100 points. Despite their lackluster start to the season, the Edmonton Oilers have locked up their playoff spot, so it’s time to pad some stats.
Facing the Arizona Coyotes on home ice is the perfect recipe to do just that, which is why I’m focused on Draisaitl. He has owned the Coyotes in his career just as much as McDavid, so we’ll take the better price. When these teams last met in February, Draisaitl recorded 3 points — which made it 6 straight games against Arizona with multiple points. That includes multiple 4-point games, so I’m confident backing him to get 2 or more tonight.
Nazem Kadri Over 0.5 assists (+140)
Over 0.5 assists (+140) available at time of publishing. Playable to +115.
Another top-tier skater that seems to fly under the radar in a big way in comparison to Draisaitl and McDavid is Nazem Kadri. He was the glue that held the Colorado Avalanche together during their Stanley Cup title run 2 seasons ago due to all their injuries, and he has since moved on to the Calgary Flames. He has surpassed his point total of last year already by double-digits, so although the Flames haven’t exactly been hot, Kadri is doing his part.
They are on the 2nd night of a back-to-back but facing the Anaheim Ducks still presents a great matchup. In 2 games against them this season, Kadri has recorded 3 assists, and did the same in the first 4 games of this month. Targeting his overall point prop is a bit more expensive — but still not a terrible play. Regardless, over 60% of his points have been assists this season.
