The conference semifinals in this year’s NBA playoffs have been significantly more interesting than the opening round (as it usually is). Of the 4 series, 3 are tied 2-2 and only the Cavaliers vs Celtics is sitting at 3-1. Tonight we go back to Madison Square Garden for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, where the Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton is currently listed as questionable with back spasms against the New York Knicks. In the West, Denver picked up both games in Minnesota to even the series and heads back home in hopes of taking its first lead of the series. Precious Achiuwa, NYK, Over 13.5 points+rebounds (+104)

This is strictly a numbers play: Achiuwa was inserted in the starting lineup the last 2 games and has seen 20+ minutes in 3 straight. He is averaging 0.5 PR per minute of play. In Game 4 he played 24 minutes and sat the entire fourth quarter due to a blowout. I believe he plays 30+min tonight, as the Knicks truly don’t have anyone else to play in the frontcourt. Miles McBride and Alec Burks will be the only 2 bench guys, but Achiuwa is needed for Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner.
At 0.5 PR per minute, this line is in play for Achiuwa once he hits 27 minutes. In Game 3 he did a really good job early being aggressive on offense, rim-running and attacking the basket off the dribble — both signs that he is comfortable after being non-existent in the opening round. He has grabbed 5, 6 and 6 rebounds over the last 3 games.
I’m also sprinkling some on his alternate line of 8+ rebounds at +165 for 0.5u. I also can’t pass up his double-double at +1200 for 0.1u; he has delivered 5 double-doubles as a starter in 18 games this season and 9 in total.

Josh Hart, NYK, to record a triple-double (+1800)

At 18-1 and coming off his worst playoff game of the postseason, it’s worth the sprinkle. We know Hart will be on the floor for 45+ minutes and Madison Square Garden will be electric. He’s maxed out at 8 assists this postseason, but the points and rebounds should be automatic double-figures. I’ll take +1800 on his assists and hopefully Achiuwa’s rim running gets us over the hump.
