Spencer Dinwiddie was left on the back burner to start the season, with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the mix. Dinwiddie averaged below 22 minutes per game through the first 15 games of the season. But the depleted Mavericks need Dinwiddie more than ever. It’s too late in the season to tank for the Mavericks. Yes, they own their 1st-round pick this season, but they are still tied for the last spot in the Play-in Tournament and had Anthony Davis return last night — however, he will not play today with Dallas on the 2nd night of a back-to-back.
So, we’re going to back Dinwiddie and his rebounds+assists prop at 8.5, a number he has hit in 14 of 25 games this season when playing 30+ minutes. He racked up 13 R+A in 28 minutes last night and should see even more usage here. Let’s bank on him making the most of this leading role against the Knicks tonight.
