We have a 5-game NBA slate ahead of us this evening and a few quality matchups to unpack. The Cavaliers and 76ers headline the night with Donovan Mitchell ruled out for Cleveland, while the Pacers take on the Hawks in a match that is certain to bring plenty of points and could be a playoff matchup down the road. All eyes will be on LeBron James as he looks to continue his absurd run against the Utah Jazz. You can read our NBA picks for each of today’s games, but for now, let’s get into my best NBA player prop bets.
Jerami Grant (POR) under 21.5 points (-120)
Line available at Bet365 sportsbook at time of publishing.
Jerami Grant is averaging 0.61 points per minute this season. His season average is at 22 per game but on 35.7 minutes. This game reeks of a blowout to me. As expected, Grant’s juiced his stats in games that he’s played 38+ minutes but he’s failed to hit this line in 4 of 6 double-digit losses. The Suns are winners of 3 straight games and defend mid-range shots the 2nd-best in the league, along with the 8th-best defensive efficiency against 3-point shots. I like Grant to see less than his normal 35 minutes and for him to struggle his way through those minutes tonight. 1U

Jalen Johnson (ATL) over 7.5 rebounds (-113)
Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Johnson is probably one of my favorite surprises of the season. The 3rd-year Duke product is now entrenched as the starting power forward for the Hawks and is averaging 0.25 rebounds per minute this season. His median minutes output is in the 31-33 range, projecting us at 8.26 rebounds tonight. What put me over the edge is Clint Capela’s matchup with Pacers center Myles Turner. Presumably, Turner will pull Capela away from the basket and get Johnson a few easier rebounds than normal. Johnson has flirted with a double-double in 6 of 12 games this season and he’s +260 tonight in that market. 1U
