Let’s close out February with a couple of W’s. I have 2 NBA player prop bets for tonight’s action as I look to build on my 35-26 record this season. In addition to those 2 picks, make sure you also read our NBA predictions for today’s matchups.
Nicolas Claxton, C, BKN, Under 24.5 points+rebounds+assists (-102)

The lack of usage for Nicolas Claxton has been a cause for concern, unless you’re backing his unders of course. The dumpster fire Brooklyn Nets have already fired head coach Jacque Vaughn and are ready to turn the page on this season. That includes Claxton, who is set to become a free agent this off-season and will ultimately get a big payday. The shape of the Nets at the moment, even without Cam Thomas tonight, points me toward fading Claxton. He’s been held under this line in 9 of the last 10 games and has attempted less than 7 field-goal attempts in five of his previous six. Ben Simmons is set to return tonight and we’ll have to wait and see how the 2 will play together.
The Atlanta Hawks aren’t a defensive matchup that teams fear, but fading Claxton at this number is one I’m willing to back. Look for Mikal Bridges, who has struggled, to bounce back, and the duo of Cameron Johnson and Dennis Schroder to also chip in from a scoring perspective. All things considered, I like the under on Claxton’s PRA tonight.

Collin Sexton, PG, UTA, Under 26.5 points+rebounds+assists (-113)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Backing the Orlando Magic from a defensive standpoint has printed us money this season. Jalen Suggs is an all-league defender in the backcourt, while the Magic rank in the top 5 in defensive efficiency. Playing at a bottom-5 pace also helps when targeting an under for the opposing team. That’s where we’re turning our attention to tonight — the under of Collin Sexton’s PRA at 26.5.
The Utah Jazz have plenty of weapons on offense that can take over at any time. Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson will lead the way, while Sexton will also look for his own shot. But Sexton is going to have to be efficient to surpass this number. He sees less than 30 minutes per game and has attempted 10 or fewer field goals in 3 of his last 10 games. As 7-point underdogs on the road, where Sexton shoots it a tick worse, I have him staying under this line.
