Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The NBA brings along a star studded 7-game slate for us on Saturday night. The likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry looks set to be taking to the floor with their respective teams. Just like these stars, here at Pickswise we have been in terrific form. The team have seen 7 of our last 9 NBA player prop picks come in.

Take a look at my 3 selections for tonight as we look to continue this run, and don’t forget to check out our NBA game previews too.

Jaden Ivey (DET) over 23.5 points + assists (-115)

The Detroit Pistons will be without the services of Cade Cunningham for today’s game against the Orlando Magic. It should leave Jaden Ivey running the point and increase his usage on offense. The 3rd year guard is already putting up great numbers this season, averaging 18 points and 4.3 assists per game. The Magic have allowed opposing playmakers to record 7 or more assists in 5 of their last 6 games, something Ivey could be set to follow suit in. The Pistons guard is also on pace to have a career year from beyond the arc, making 35.9% of his attempts. With the Magic ranking in the bottom 10 of the league in opponent 3-point percentage this season, Ivey should be set to take advantage. Back him to drive the Pistons offense tonight.

Damian Lillard (MIL) Over 7.5 assists (+105)

The Milwaukee Bucks have been able to string 3 great wins together recently, helping them get back to the top 6 in the Eastern Conference. A common theme in these wins has been Damian Lillard’s playmaking. The guard has hit double figure assists in each of the contests, averaging 11 per game during that stretch. With the success the team has been having, I expect him to continue sharing the ball tonight. The Charlotte Hornets should be a favorable opponent in that regard. They rank 23rd in the league in opponent assists per game. They are also lacking size down low, with Miles Bridges, Mark Williams and Nick Richards all set to miss tonight’s game. It should give Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez a major advantage in the paint, and I expect Lillard to be the one supplying the ball to them here.

Shaedon Sharpe (POR) Over 15.5 points (-120)

This will be the second straight meeting between the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers, with the first ending in a blowout 28-point win for the Rockets. It led to reduced minutes across the board, with just 1 player surpassing 30 minutes of playing time. Shaedon Sharpe was no exception, managing just 23 on the night. He was, however, one of their few bright sparks on offense, managing to tie for a game team high of 13 points. In the previous 4 contests before this, he managed at least 32 minutes of playing time, helping him hit the over on this line in each contest. Sharpe is a highflyer and should benefit from attacking the rim here against Alperen Sengun. The Turkish center has not recorded a block in 3 straight games and Sharpe should be able to exploit this and have success in the paint. Expect better scoring numbers from him here in what looks set to be a more competitive game.
