The NBA has 5 games for us on Saturday following a packed slate last night. To begin with, Doc Rivers and the Milwaukee Bucks will look to continue to turn their season around as they take on the Charlotte Hornets. After that, the Los Angeles Lakers will be hoping to build on their strong start as Anthony Davis returns to face his former team, the New Orleans Pelicans.
You can find our NBA game previews here, but for now let’s check out my player prop selections.
Victor Wembanyama, SAS, Over 2.5 made threes (-115)
Victor Wembanyama has had a scoring resurgence for the San Antonio Spurs, which has been mainly fueled by his improvement from beyond the arc. After making just 23.5% from out there last month, he has upped his that to 38.5% so far in November. As a result, he has hit the over on this line in each of the last 4 games. It has clearly helped his confidence, too; in each of the last 3 games he has attempted at least 12 3-pointers. Even if he reverts to his October efficiency on Saturday, that volume of shots would give this line a great chance. The Mavericks do have good rim protection in the paint due to the presence of Danial Gafford and Dereck Lively II. Look for the Spurs man to play a vital part in forcing them to step away from the basket.
Cam Reddish, LAL, Over 4.5 points (-135)
The Los Angeles Lakers will be on the second night of a back-to-back set tonight, taking on a shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans team that is missing 6 players from their usual rotation. It seems exactly the type of game that the Lakers would use to get role players like Cam Reddish going. While he has hit this over in 2 of his last 5 games, both were in contests decided by 12 or more points. I would not be surprised to see the same be the case tonight. Reddish has also carved out a role in the rotation, managing 23 minutes per game in November so far. The Pelicans are just 27th in defensive rating this season and are in the bottom 10 of the league in opponent 3-point makes per game. Considering the Lakers’ forward is making 55.6% of his attempts from beyond the arc, he could be well positioned to surpass his season averages.
