The NBA slate has been somewhat decimated on Saturday, with only 4 of the 7 scheduled games set to go ahead. The games that are on still certainly demand our attention.
The Phoenix Suns are one of those teams in action, as they look to work their way back toward .500 and playoff contention. On top of that we will get to see 2 of the most exciting American stars face off as Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies take on Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
You can also check out all of our NBA previews. But for now take a look at my player prop selections below.
Bradley Beal (PHX) Over 16.5 points (-115)
Bradley Beal seems to be flourishing in his newfound role off the bench for the Phoenix Suns. He has been able to score 25 points in 2 of his last 3 games and will fancy his chances of building on that tonight against a Utah Jazz team he scored 24 points against earlier in the season. This time, however, he will be up against their second unit, one that will not benefit from the rim protection of Walker Kessler behind them. He will have the green light to get his shots up here and will not have to defer to either Kevin Durant or Devin Booker. He has started 2025 shooting 51.8% from the field, a mark that is on track to make January his most efficient scoring month of his season so far. Look for him to continue thriving in this role once more tonight.
Ja’Kobe Walter (TOR) Over 5.5 points (-115)
Walter could play a larger role tonight against the Pistons. They are 7th in net offensive and defensive rating over the last 10 games, a category in which the Raptors are dead last. This could end up being a blowout, which would lead to more minutes for Walter. The rookie should be well positioned to take advantage of any opportunities he gets. He has started off 2025 by upping his 3-point percentage to 42.9%. Walter should be one of the key floor spacers for the Raptors’ second unit. Over the last 10 games the Pistons are 20th in opponent points off turnovers, too. With the athletic ability Walter possesses, he should be able get out in transition and help Toronto convert on any mistakes. Overall, he is averaging 7.7 ppg this season. This line feels too low.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. (MIA) Over 1.5 steals (-120)
Jaime Jaquez Jr. is starting to demonstrate the form that made him a rookie sensation last season. He is also doing very well filling in for Jimmy Butler, especially on the defensive end. So far this month he is averaging 1.8 steals per game, having recorded at least 1 steal in 5 of the 6 games in 2025. He also has 7 steals over his last 3 games. Tonight’s opponents should be favorable too, as the Miami Heat are up against the Portland Trail Blazers. Over the last 10 games the hosts are 23rd in the league in opponent steals per game, allowing 9.4 per contest. Anfernee Simons is not a traditional point guard, preferring to play off the ball. It means the likes of Shaedon Sharpe and Deni Advija take on more ball handling responsibilities. Jacquez Jr. should have success here pressuring them, picking off steals in the process.
