In the midst of March Madness, we have a 10-game NBA slate on Friday night. Let’s dive into my best NBA player prop bets for today as I look to build on my 12-4 run. You can also find out our expert NBA picks for the big games on Friday, March 21.

Fred VanVleet (HOU) Under 21.5 points+rebounds+assists (-115)

Odds available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing

With Amen Thompson probable heading into Friday against the Miami Heat, I’m turning to fading Fred VanVleet. VanVleet sees just a 12% usage rate when the starting lineup of VanVleet, Green, Thompson, Brooks and Sengun plays together. In a slow-paced environment with the lowest total of the slate, VanVleet is my favorite fade candidate of the night.

Klay Thompson (DAL) Under 2.5 assists (-105)

Odds available at Fanatics Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Klay Thompson was a late scratch on Wednesday due to illness. Max Christie and the return of Jaden Hardy made up for Thompson’s absence and they played extremely well. But the result was another loss — the Mavs’ 9th in the last 10 games. Nonetheless, the Mavericks have more options to go to than they did a week ago. P.J. Washington, Naji Marshall and Spencer Dinwiddie should control much of the usage for the Mavericks tonight versus the Pistons as 9-point home underdogs.
