We have a small 6-game slate in the NBA today but some money to make; although the menu is still, we think we’ve found a winner. Let’s dive into my favorite NBA player prop bet for Friday, December 1. Make sure you also check out our NBA picks for all of tonight’s games as well.

Jalen Suggs (ORL) under 14.5 points (-125)

Line available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing. Recommended 1u wager.

The Wizards and Magic just met a couple of days ago and, unsurprisingly, the Magic dominated. Arguably the biggest reason was the explosive performance of Jalen Suggs, who put up a season-high 22 points. It is time to fade as the line has overreacted.

Since the injuries to Wendell Carter Jr. and Markelle Fultz, with Orlando without both starters, Suggs’ role has obviously increased but he is still only averaging 28.0 minutes per game and 14.4 points per game. In that span, his 19.9% usage rate is still lower than Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and multiple bench players, including backup point guard Cole Anthony.

Suggs has the ability to get cold offensively as his focus remains on defense and his efficiency in the previous game, including 50% from three, is not one you should bank on repeating itself every game. Additionally, the Wizards aren’t exactly a matchup on paper for Suggs to feast. Their best defenders will often match up with Suggs on the perimeter and on the season, Washington is an above-average defense against above-the-break threes, which is where Suggs gets most of his points from. Add in the possibility of a blowout in this 11-point spread and Suggs is in danger of not even reaching his 28-minute average. My projection for this game suggests that Suggs needs over 30 minutes for this line to be fair, so it is best to back the under.
