After a 3-game slate last night, the NBA hits bettors with a 13-game slate on Friday Night. Let’s dive into our best NBA player prop bets for Wednesday, November 8. You can also find out our NBA picks for all the big matchups today and throughout the entire 2024-25 season.

Tyrese Haliburton (IND) Over 8.5 assists (-130)

Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Pacers vs Hornets open up the monster slate on Friday night and I’m turning my attention to Tyrese Haliburton and his assists prop. Haliburton has been under a ton of scrutiny for his performance early on in the season. His numbers are down across the board. He’s averaging 5 less points on below 40% from the field, and his assists are down from 11 to 7.5. But I’m banking on positive regression heading into tonight. Let’s dive in.

Haliburton has one of the best matchups in basketball in terms of creating for teammates. The Hornets play a league-average pace, but rank in the bottom 10 in defensive efficiency and are coming off allowing 10 assists to Detroit Pistons’ point guard Cade Cunningham. With a Pacers implied team total of 121, the most across the slate, I expect Haliburton to be the center of it.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) Over 27.5 points (-111)

Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the OKC Thunder sustained their first loss of the season on Wednesday in a thriller against the Denver Nuggets. He was blocked by Peyton Watson on a potential game-tying basket that would’ve sent the game to overtime. The star guard finished with 28 points — eclipsing the over of 27.5 for the fourth time this season.

SGA and the Thunder will matchup against a Houston Rockets team that he has dominated in years past. Over his last 5 games against the Rockets, Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 34 points. All 5 of those were played with Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams active. As long as this game plays close, Gilgeous-Alexander should have his way scoring the ball.
