Friday night in the NBA presents us with 9 games and a few interesting matchups: LA Clippers (+2) vs Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers (+4) vs Phoenix Suns headline the night. There are a few surprise teams out of the gate and the Houston Rockets are one of them, sitting at 4-3 through 7 games as they’ve proven to be a tough out defensively. Ime Udoka is having a positive impact out of the gate in Houston, and we’ll see if that continues.
Mark Williams (Hornets) over 22.5 points + rebounds (-120)
Line available on DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of publishing.
Mark Williams is averaging 0.9 PR per minute as a starter this season and would need to clear 25 for this line to be safe. He’s done that in 4/7 this season, but only logged 18 minutes Wednesday in a head scratching move for many. However, in those 18 minutes, he averaged 1.1 PR per minute. I expect Williams to get a full workload Friday night and be another center who picks on this Wizards team this season. 1U

Ivica Zubac (Clippers) over 19.5 points + rebounds (-110)
Line available on DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of publishing.
The Clippers have many things to figure out in their rotation with the addition of James Harden, but Ivica Zubac’s role remains untouched. You could make the argument he benefits from Harden’s presence and ability to run the high PnR. He’s seen 29 min in 3 straight games, but for the season he’s averaging 0.74 PR per minute of play. I’d project him closer to 27 minutes against the Dallas Mavericks and this number is still beatable. If he stays at that 29 min mark, I project him at 21.46PR on the night. His Double-Double at +172 is also an interesting play. 1U
