Taking an under with a game total of 245 points may scare people off, but these prop lines are baked into the total. The Grizzlies are 12-point home favorites on the 1st leg of a back-to-back against a Pelicans team ready to throw in the towel on their season. Like the Grizzlies, the Pelicans play tomorrow night against the Hornets — which is presumed to be much more competitive than this duel tonight. An under calls for more outs that include; blowouts, foul trouble, poor shooting, injuries, etc.
The Grizzlies’ core is slowly returning to full strength with Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane all playing together. In the 6 games the trio has played together this month, the Grizzlies are 4-2, but — more importantly — Bane is under this line in 5 of those games. He eclipsed this line last game with 8 assists on 11 opportunities. That’s a hit rate you should be willing to bet against.
For transparency reasons, we’ll track this at -145 on DraftKings. FanDuel offered this at -130 moments ago but was hit hard in the last few minutes. If you can get under 5.5 assists at +115, that’s a prop I’m willing to wager .75 units on.
