After a 2-0 start to our NBA player props bets for the NBA Finals, I’m ready to answer that with our best bets for Game 2. For now, let’s dive into our best NBA player prop bets for Game 2 between the Mavericks and Celtics on Sunday, June 9th. On top of that, keep an eye on our NBA picks for predictions on the side and total of EVERY NBA Finals matchup.
Derrick White, BOS, Over 13.5 points (-135)
Odds available at ESPN Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Derrick White quietly had an impressive showing in Game 1. He scored 15 points on 5/11 from the field while knocking down both free throw attempts. Kristaps Porzingis and Jaylen Brown stole the show, but I expect White to get his number called early and often in Game 2, depending on the Dallas Mavericks’ adjustments.
In Game 1, the Mavericks forced the ball out of Jayson Tatum’s hands. They collapsed on all his drives, which led to wide-open shots for the rest of the Celtics core. It may be Brown’s turn to get that attention now. Nonetheless, I expect White to take advantage of the Mavericks game plan of stopping Tatum, Brown, and Porzingis.
White has scored at least 14 points in four of five games this postseason with the Celtics fully healthy. We’re pivoting to ESPNBET for the best price of 13.5 points at -135. FanDuel and DraftKings have this line priced at -145.

Kyrie Irving, DAL, Over 22.5 points (-108)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
We’re finding another great line in terms of +EV on DraftKings centered around Kyrie Irving and his points. While most major markets have Irving’s line of 22.5 points juiced to -125, DraftKings is coming in at -108. After going 6/19 from the field, which includes missing multiple open jump shots, I’m ready to back Irving in Game 2 and help the Mavericks head to Dallas tied at 1 game apiece.
Jrue Holiday and Payton Pritchard were seen on Irving most of Game 1, and they did a phenomenal job. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic almost willed the Mavericks back into the game after a 10-point 3rd quarter and getting any shot he wanted. The Celtics are letting Irving and Doncic go into isolation at will and refusing to give open shots in the corner to P.J. Washington and Derrick Jones. They also did a great job limiting the Mavericks lob threats with Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II.
Irving is fully capable of taking over Game 2 against his former team – back his points on Sunday Night.
