The NBA has a soft return from the all-star break with the Hornets taking on the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena at 10:00 pm ET in the sole game of the night. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t find a best bet in the game! The Lakers will be looking to hit the ground running after the All-Star Weekend as they prepare to make a push for the NBA Championship. This bet is far from pretty and we like it more that way. Gamblers who like fun will be betting on LeBron James, Luka Doncic and LaMelo Ball, but we are going to our roots here. Josh Green is not a high-volume shooter by any means, but we have reason to be optimistic that he finds an early bucket. First off, Green has hit this in 8 of his last 9 games. This game will likely be playing alongside LaMelo though so the recent logs with him may be more relevant. Green has hit this in 4 straight games alongside Ball. Of those 4 was a game against the Lakers.
Charlotte gave Green 11 1st-quarter minutes in that matchup, which we absolutely love. If our boy goes out there for 11 minutes only needing one bucket then I can gladly live with whatever the result is. He will likely only play 5-6 minutes here but knowing it has that potential upside is reassuring. LA will be game-planning to stop LaMelo and Miles Bridges, so Green should find himself open at least once, whether it be for a jump-shot or a rim run. This bet is ugly but the green we get afterwards could be beautiful. Let’s roll!
