Round 2 of the NBA playoffs starts tonight, as the highly anticipated matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets takes center stage.

Jaden McDaniels, MIN, Over 12.5 points + rebounds (-110)

If you haven’t seen Jaden McDaniels play defense, you’re in for a treat on Saturday night. McDaniels is not done growing. He measured in at 6’11” during the summer, and it’s all on full display when he’s locking up the best player on the opposing player on the perimeter. While his defense is his #1 strength, I’m backing his offensive game — as he showed during the Suns series that he is more than capable of stuffing the stat sheet.
I’m combining McDaniels points and rebounds at 12.5. FanDuel, one of the sharper books on the market, has already moved this prop to 13.5. Luckily for us, BetMGM and DraftKings are lagging behind, as they are offering 12.5 at more than playable odds.
Apart from getting a great number, this should be a series where McDaniels can contribute on the offensive end by scoring and reeling in rebounds on both ends. With Karl-Anthony Towns back at full strength, McDaniels gets overlooked — which is fine with bettors. The Nuggets should have no problem letting a 30% 3-pointer shooter on the road hoist up 3s.
McDaniels cleared this line in 3 of the 4 games during the Suns series while topping 15 points + rebounds in the only game McDaniels and Towns played together against Denver this season.
