The first two weeks of Thursday Night Football during the 2023 NFL season did not disappoint, as the Lions went into Kansas City and took down the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs 21-20, before the Vikings and Eagles played a barnburner to open Week 2 in Philadelphia. What will Week 3 do for an encore? It should be a good one, featuring a pair of playoff teams from last season in the Giants and 49ers. The Giants are looking to pull a massive upset as significant road underdogs, while the 49ers are hoping to remain perfect on the season.
Here is my Giants vs 49ers Same Game Parlay for the festivities, which kick off at 8:15 pm ET on Amazon Prime. Here at Pickswise, we’ve partnered with Unibet to boost this SGP from +1150 to +1325 odds! You can also read our Giants vs 49ers predictions on the side and total, but for now, let’s get into our Same Game Parlay for this matchup.
San Francisco 49ers alternate spread -6.5 (-188)
George Kittle over 43.5 receiving yards (-114)
Darren Waller to score a touchdown (+260)
Same Game Parlay odds: +1150 +1325 with Unibet
One of the tricks to the Same Game Parlay trade is that you can boost your odds by not correlating all of the results. That is the entire plan here, as Darren Waller scoring a touchdown does not necessarily correlate with the 49ers winning by at least a touchdown. However, we do still have the 2 legs involving San Francisco that would correlate nicely with each other, so it’s not a total contrarian SGP. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

San Francisco 49ers alternate spread -6.5 over New York Giants (-188)
Although last Sunday’s miraculous comeback victory for the Giants was the perfect remedy to a demoralizing Week 1 defeat against the Cowboys, it still showed New York’s glaring flaws so far this season, as they barely made it past a Cardinals team expected to be among the worst in the NFL. Now, Brian Daboll and company must take on the 49ers, who by contrast look to be an early Super Bowl contender after coasting to a 2-0 start with comfortable successes against the Steelers and the Rams.
Christian McCaffrey looks like an early MVP candidate, having already put up 268 rushing yards across those 2 games and finding the end zone twice, while quarterback Brock Purdy has proven his success at the backend of last season was no fluke. There are some clear issues with this New York team already and that was before Saquon Barkley was listed as out for Thursday’s contest. It will also be San Francisco’s first home game of the season so a raucous crowd can be expected in the Bay Area. I didn’t want to lay double digits with the 49ers on a short week, but San Francisco should be able to win by a touchdown here.

George Kittle over 43.5 receiving yards (-114)
Over the first 2 weeks against the Steelers and Rams, George Kittle hauled in 6 catches for 49 yards. While those numbers don’t blow you away, he’ll be in for a much more favorable matchup this week against a Giants team that has consistently struggled with defending against tight ends. That certainly was the case in Week 1 against the Cowboys, where they allowed 54 yards receiving, only to surrender 76 yards to Zach Ertz and company the following week. Kittle has had to consistently compete with McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk for Brock Purdy’s attention. However, those two did have a great rapport last season and I’d expect them to reignite that chemistry sooner rather than later. Let’s start that process against a vulnerable Giants defense on Thursday.

Darren Waller to score a touchdown (+260)
We didn’t see much of Darren Waller in the season opener against the Cowboys for New York, but that makes sense given that the Giants were down multiple scores before you could blink. What really sold me on this leg of our Same Game Parlay was actually watching how Daniel Jones consistently targeted (and found) Waller last week during the second-half comeback against the Cardinals. The tight end is a matchup problem for most defenses and I can certainly see Jones turning to his new security blanket throughout the game, as the nasty Niners front seven will force the New York quarterback to get the ball out quickly from the start. If the Giants can find their way into the red zone once or twice, it’s hard not to find value on Waller at nearly 3/1 odds here.
