MLB pick today: Los Angeles Dodgers vs Cincinnati Reds – Over 10 runs (-105), 12:35 pm ET

The Reds and Dodgers continue their wild and entertaining series this afternoon with an early first pitch. Clayton Kershaw takes the bump for the Dodgers, but it is hard to tell how he will perform game to game. Overall, he has been good. However, he also has allowed at least 4 runs several times recently and has 2 games where he lasted 4 innings or less.

Graham Ashcraft takes the ball for the Reds. He has been dreadful for the last several starts. In fact, you have to go all the way back to May 2 to find a game in which he gave up fewer than 3 runs, and most starts over the past month have seen some huge numbers. Scoring has been heavy in this series so far, as these teams have combined for 17 runs and 14 runs in the first 2 games. For that reason, backing the over will be our play.

MLB pick today: Houston Astros vs Toronto Blue Jays – Under 8 runs (-102), 7:07 pm ET

The Blue Jays and Astros conclude their 4-game series tonight in Toronto and it will feature two starting pitchers who have been red hot. Jose Berrios will start for the Blue Jays and he is 5-4 this year with a 3.66 ERA and he’s allowed only 2 runs in his last 3 starts.

Framber Valdez will start for the visiting Astros, and he’s also had a great year. Valdez is 6-4 with a 2.16 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP and has allowed only 1 run in his last 3 starts. Given the success both starters have had recently, this game has all the signs pointing towards a low scoring contest. For that reason, backing the under will be our play.

NHL pick today: Vegas Golden Knights vs Florida Panthers (-118), 8:00 pm ET

After bullying their way through 3 elite opponents, the Panthers are now trying to avoid losing 3 straight games when it matters most. When the Panthers were down 3-1 to the Bruins in the first round, they kept their composure and made the necessary adjustments that ultimately led to them winning 3 straight to close out the series. They will return home tonight, so with the energy from their home fans, backing the Panthers to win will be our play.

MLB pick today: Chicago Cubs ML over Los Angeles Angels (+116), 9:38 pm ET

The series opener at Angels Stadium features a lefty showdown between Drew Smyly and Reid Detmers. Between the pair of lefties, Smyly is the better pitcher. The veteran had an incredible April for the Cubs with a 3.21 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP in 5 starts, and he followed it up with a 3.66 ERA in May.

While Smyly is reliable, Detmers is erratic. He’s completed 6 innings just once this season, back on April 16, so the lefty will likely give the bullpen several innings of work when his day is done. Because Detmers can be inconsistent, backing the Cubs to win will be our play.
