NHL pick today: Ottawa Senators ML over New York Rangers (+150), 7:07 pm ET
The Ottawa Senators set out on a 1-game road trip tonight when they play the New York Rangers. One advantage the Senators have is scheduling. The Rangers played the night before in Philadelphia against the Flyers, where they had to go to OT to get the win, whereas the Senators have been rested and waiting for this game.
The other edge the Senators have in this contest comes from how well their defense has played since the beginning of February. They have been one of the better teams in preventing scoring chances, ranking 9th in expected goals against. This tough defense has helped keep the puck out of their net, as they rank just outside the top 10 in goals allowed per game, with a mark of 2.90. Because of their recent defensive success, backing the Senators to pull the upset will be the play.

College Basketball pick today: UCLA Bruins -11.5 over Arizona State Sun Devils (-110), 9:00 pm ET
UCLA is one of the hottest teams in the entire country, riding an 8-game win streak that dates all the way back to January 26. They have all the tools to make it back to the final four this season with senior guard play and balanced metrics raking top 25 in both offensive efficiency and defense efficiency.
According to KenPom, UCLA’s defense is ranked #2 in adjusted efficiency, #27 in three-point percentage and #27 in effective field goal percentage. The Sun Devil’s offense on the other hand, is ranked #116 in adjusted efficiency, #306 in three-point percentage and #283 in effective field goal percentage. UCLA will make it hard for Arizona State to score in this game, therefore backing the Bruins to cover will be the play.

NHL pick today: Calgary Flames ML over Toronto Maple Leafs (-110), 9:00 pm ET
This is a huge game for Elias Lindholm and company, as the Flames are the first team on the outside looking in of the Western Conference Wild Card standings. There’s no denying that they haven’t had the season they were hoping for, but they still have the talent to compete with anyone.
The discrepancy between the Leafs at home and on the road is also significant. They have the league’s 3rd-best record at home but have just a .593 win percentage on the road prior to the Oilers game. Along with them having a backup goaltender in net for this matchup, backing the Flames will be the play tonight.

NHL pick today: Minnesota Wild ML over Vancouver Canucks (-165), 10:00 pm ET
Normally, the Wild are known for their high-flying offense led by Kirill Kaprizov. However, it’s been their goaltending that has been remarkable as of late. Throughout February, Minnesota allowed just 2.15 goals per game, the 3rd-best mark in the NHL.
Meanwhile, Vancouver allowed 4.18 goals per game during that same time frame, which was the 2nd-most in the league. The Wild have outscored the Canucks 7-3 in their 2 meetings this season and should make it 6 straight wins against Vancouver dating back to 2021.
