MLB pick today: Cincinnati Reds ML over Philadelphia Phillies (-120), 6:40 pm ET

Nick Lodolo will get the start for the Reds tonight as they take on the Phillies and their lefty starter, Bailey Falter. Lodolo has already had plenty of success this season, posting a 1.50 ERA through 2 starts. Falter, on the other hand, does not have strikeout stuff and can be very hittable when he relies too heavily on his fastball. Opponents are hitting .391 against his four-seamer, and that pitch has made up nearly 50% of his pitches this season.

At the plate, the Phillies have the better offense on paper. However, when they faced Lodolo last week they struck out 12 times and managed just 3 hits in 7 innings. Because Cincinnati has a huge pitching advantage, backing the Reds to win will be our play.

NHL pick today: Minnesota Wild vs Nashville Predators – Under 5.5 goals (-110), 8:00 pm ET

The Minnesota Wild are locked into the #3 spot in the Central Division, so they will be on the road facing either the Dallas Stars or Colorado Avalanche. Their star, Kirill Kaprizov, just recently returned from a month-long injury, so there is a very strong chance they allow him to rest for this matchup.

The Nashville Predators, on the other hand, will also be without their 2 top offensive weapons. Now facing a Wild team that has allowed the 4th-fewest goals per game this season, that does not bode well for their chances at finding the back of the net. When these teams faced off in Nashville earlier this season, we saw a combined 3 goals scored. Even if we have a couple more than that, backing the under still looks to be the best play.

NHL pick today: Winnipeg Jets vs Colorado Avalanche – Under 6 goals (+100), 8:06 pm ET

Two strong Central Division opponents go head-to-head in what could be a potential preview of a playoff series down the road. This game could have a playoff-like feel to it, as each team needs to get into that gritty and high-energy  mindset and they will be forced into those traits within a week. Colorado scores a lot when facing weak teams, but Winnipeg has the NHL’s fifth-best goals against average. The Jets also tend to be a low-scoring team and because they will be taking on a very respectable defense/goaltending system, backing the under will be our play.

NHL pick today: Los Angeles Kings 3-Way ML over Anaheim Ducks (-145), 10:00 pm ET

Los Angeles is just 2 points ahead of the Seattle Kraken and does not hold the tiebreaker. That means if LA falls to the lowly Ducks and the Kraken win tonight, Seattle will then leapfrog into the 3rd spot in the Pacific — while the Kings will fall into a wild card.

The Kings have smashed the Ducks this season by final scores 4-1 and 6-3. Moreover, because this game means much more to the Kings then backing them to win will be our play.
