ThriveFantasy NFL player props - Best Picks & Plays for Week 7: All about Austin Ekeler

Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler

We went 2 out of 3 last week, which wasn’t too shabby. We would have been perfect if Tom Brady had been at practices and walkthroughs instead of throwing down at Robert Kraft’s wedding! Oh well, to each their own. We are back with a fresh slate of NFL player props over at ThriveFantasy, and we have some great picks in the afternoon and Sunday night games.

If you are looking for some NFL Picks for Week 7 and you are playing over at ThriveFantasy, you have most certainly come to the right place.

Tyreek Hill, Austin Ekeler and Davante Adams are the guys you should look at targeting this week on Thrive. It’s time to #PropUp over at ThriveFantasy, but be sure to check out our NFL Best Bets and our NFL Prop Bets pages before locking in any NFL player props. We went a perfect 7-0 on our NFL best bets last week!

ThriveFantasy NFL Player Props Week 7

Tyreek Hill over 81.5 receiving yards

It’s hard not to take the over here, right? Tua Tagovailoa is expected back under center, and in the first three weeks of the season, where Tagovailoa played at least 93 percent of the snaps, Hill averaged 7 receptions on 9.7 targets for 105.7 yards per game. Pittsburgh held up against Tampa Bay last weekend, somehow, but that shouldn’t be the same story this week. Mike McDaniel has it working with Hill, and Hill has surpassed this mark in 4 of 6 games this year.

Austin Ekeler over 50.5 rushing yards

It’s only rushing yards, so that’s something to note, but the volume has been there for Ekeler, and I expect him to be efficient against this Seattle team that ranks in the lower third of the league in DVOA against the run. Opponents are averaging 5.1 yards per attempt against Seattle this season, and as a team, the Seahawks’ best collective performance against the run came back in Week 1 when they allowed Denver to only run for 103 yards. Outside of that game, it’s been 140+ rushing yards each for the opposition. While Ekeler has only surpassed this line twice this year, it has come in 2 of the last 3 games, and if he gets 13+ carries like he has in all but 1 game this year, he should surpass this mark with ease against Seattle.

Davante Adams over 89.5 receiving yards

While I love Derek Stingley Jr. long-term for the Texans, there has been a clear strategy to attack him in coverage. He’s a man corner who is playing a good bit of zone and adjusting to that. The Texans have allowed 86 yards per game to the opponent’s WR1, and rank in the bottom half of DVOA against the WR1. Adams has gone for 100+ in three of five games this season, and he went for 196 yards and two scores in his last game against Houston (2020). When looking at wide receivers against Houston this year, we see that Courtland Sutton, Michael Pittman Jr., Mike Williams and Marvin Jones all went for 100+ yards against the Houston Texans. What’s the similarity between them and Adams? Alpha WR1s that play a good chunk of the snaps on the outside.
