Morikawa’s last round at Augusta was a 67, which hauled him up to 5th place in last year’s event, and he has returned to the Cathedral of Pines with several months of encouraging ball-striking form behind him.
Morikawa’s trademark precision on approach counts for an enormous amount at Augusta – it is essential to find the right sections of these heavily undulating greens – and the two-time Major champion has made a habit of fast starts this year.
