The 2020 XFL season will kick-off once again this weekend as there is more football to watch a week after the biggest game of them all, the Super Bowl. It may have taken a 20-year hiatus, but the XFL is coming back with eight brand new franchisees ready to take over the football industry. One of those teams being the Tampa Bay Vipers who will be playing out of Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Let’s dive straight into the Tampa Bay Vipers XFL Season Preview. Looking for game predictions? Check out our XFL Predictions now!
Tampa Bay Vipers Head Coach
The Vipers are killing two birds with one stone as Tampa Bay’s head coach is also the team’s general manager. Meet Marc Trestman who has been pretty known for his stints in both the CFL and NFL. Trestman was last seen in the NFL coaching the Chicago Bears leading them to an 8-8 season in 2013 and 5-11 record back in 2014. His last coaching stint was with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.
Tampa Bay Vipers Key Players
RB Mack Brown: The running back is finally happy to get a starting chance with the Vipers as he bounced around with the Houston Texans, Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders from 2015-2019. Brown has a total of 111 rushing yards along with a rushing average of 6.9 yards in the NFL.
DB Corey Moore: The former Houston Texan will get another shot playing football as he is looking to showcase why he deserved to stay in the NFL. Moore brings one interception and 64 career tackles from the NFL into the XFL
Tampa Bay Vipers Win Total: O/U 7.5 Wins
With 10 games scheduled for the Vipers, they have the highest win total from the oddsmakers. They might be in the middle of the pack for the championship odds, but they have the talent to pretty much win every game this season. With loads of AAF and professional experience, they also have the coaching experience to get it done. However, winning eight games to win this win total is just too high for me. Especially with them starting two games on the road. Bet: Under 7.5 Wins
Tampa Bay Vipers Championship Odds (+550)
The Vipers are currently sitting in the middle of the back for championship odds as they have loads of players with collegiate and AAF experience. With Georgia Bulldog star Aaron Murray leading the charge, anything is possible. Other AAF stars on this team include Seantavius Jones and Rannell Hall who will be running down the field catching Murry’s bombs. The value is currently there, but there are three other teams I love more than the Tampa Bay Vipers. You can find those teams here. Bet: Stay Away From The Championship Bet
