The 2024 NFL season has come to an end. That’s the bad news – and, yes, it’s very bad. But the good news is that football never really stops and it’s never too early to look ahead toward the 2025 campaign. Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ beatdown of the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night in New Orleans, Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara is next up on the menu. The NFL odds are already out for 2026’s big game, so let’s break down what could transpire on the NFL gridiron next season by breaking down the Super Bowl 60 opening odds.

As the odds indicate, a Super Bowl rematch between Philadelphia and Kansas City is expected. Just what America wants, right?! Those 2 teams have opened as co-favorites to lift the Lombardi Trophy next February (when Sunday’s game started, the Chiefs were outright favorites to win next year’s Super Bowl and the Eagles were tied with the Baltimore Ravens at +700). There is not much of a gap behind the top 2, who are followed by the Ravens, Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions.
- Kansas City Chiefs +600
- Philadelphia Eagles +600

Super Bowl 60 best bet: Detroit Lions (+900)
The Detroit Lions were my longshot pick in this same article 12 months ago and for a while that was looking great. Detroit was arguably the best team in all of football for basically the entire season until it got upset by Washington in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Keep in mind that star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson missed basically the entire year. Just think how good the Lions will be with Hutchinson back on the field!
Losing both coordinators (Ben Johnson on offense, Aaron Glenn on defense) is some cause for concern, but it is nothing that can’t be overcome – especially not on the defensive side of the ball. And the skill-position players on offense (Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta and more) are too good to take any measurable step back, even without Johnson calling the shots. At +900, Detroit has outstanding value.
Super Bowl 60 best longshot pick: Los Angeles Chargers (+2800)
Like the Lions, the Los Angeles Chargers were unceremoniously bounced out of the playoffs right away by the Texans. Still, it was a remarkable turnaround for the franchise in their first year under head coach Jim Harbaugh. The Chargers compiled an 11-6 record and their +101 point differential was the 8th-best in the entire NFL (by comparison, Kansas City had a point differential of +57). LA’s defense is outstanding and the offense has pieces in place with Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey and others. Moreover, who doesn’t want to live in California and play for Harbaugh? The free-agency period should be active for Los Angeles.
