If you’re looking to cash a bet before Super Bowl 58 even begins, then the National Anthem length may be the one for you. Betting on whether the National Anthem will go over a set number of seconds has grown in popularity in recent years, and this year won’t be any different. American country singer and actress Reba McEntire will be performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl this year, and our expert has come up with a Super Bowl National Anthem best bet and has the latest National Anthem odds and lines.

How To Bet On The Super Bowl National Anthem

Placing a bet on the National Anthem is quite easy since you’re either betting on the over or the under of the length of the performance. However, a number of sportsbooks won’t release a National Anthem betting line until right before the game, so make sure you shop around to find a line. You can usually find the Super Bowl National Anthem odds under novelty props for most sportsbooks.

Super Bowl National Anthem Previous Times & Trends

Heading into Super Bowl 58, the over has cashed in 4 of the last 5 Super Bowls. Country singer Chris Stapleton sang the national anthem last year and it came it at 2:01. Prior to that, another country singer sang the national anthem in 2017, Luke Bryan, and he completed it in 2:04. So country singers do have a tendency so make every note count when performing the Super Bowl national anthem. In the past 10 years, the over/under record is 5-4-1.

Here is the list of the last 12 Super Bowl National Anthem performances and times:

Super Bowl Performer O/U Time Actual Time O/U
57 Chris Stapleton 1:59.5 2:01 Over
56 Mickey Guyton 1:35.5 1:52 Over
55 Jazmine Sullivan 1:59.5 2:17 Over
54 Demi Lovato 1:55.5 1:49 Under
53 Gladys Knight 1:47.5 2:01 Over
52 Pink 2:00.5 1:52 Under
51 Luke Bryan 2:09.5 2:04 Under
50 Lady Gaga 2:22.5 2:03 Under
49 Idina Menzel 2:02.5 2:36 Over

Super Bowl National Anthem Odds

Over 1:30.5 (-110)
Under 1:30.5 (-110)

The Super Bowl national anthem odds with most sportsbooks is currently set at 90.5 seconds, or 1:30.5. The line had originally opened at 1:23.5 (83.5 seconds) but has already been bet all the way up by 7 seconds. Even at this new line, we’ve only seen one Super Bowl national anthem performance quicker than 1:30 since Super Bowl 32, which was 26 years ago. The line will inevitably be different depending on which sportsbook you use, so it’s essential that you shop around to make sure you find the best number relating to your over/under bet and increase your chances of winning.

Super Bowl National Anthem Picks and Predictions: Over 90.5 seconds (-110)

We’ve seen the over cash in the last 3 Super Bowl national anthem performances and in 4 of the last 5, and ultimately, my Super Bowl national anthem prediction is for the Over to cash once again. McEntire has previously performed the national anthem at an NFL game in 1999, and that performance was exactly 1:30 / 90 seconds, so that may be the reason behind the books increasing the line to that number.

However, it’s important to note that McEntire is now 68 years old and therefore may not have the speed to belt out the national anthem as she once did. Therefore, I’m anticipating a slightly slower rendition that sees her comfortably eclipse 1:30. It’s also important to note that an under would mean we’ve seen the fastest Super Bowl national anthem in 26 years, so history is on our side. All things considered, I like the Over.
