The Chargers and Rams got bounced, so we will now see the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football instead. Matchups between these two teams are typically close, so it makes sense that the spread for this game has moved under the key number of 3. With so much on the line for both teams, this one feels like a classic AFC North matchup from years’ past.

Here are our predictions and best bets for Sunday’s Steelers vs Ravens showdown.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens expert picks

We have 2 NFL picks for this week’s clash between the Steelers vs Ravens. Let’s take a look.

Steelers vs Ravens point spread pick: Steelers +2.5 (-110)

Lamar Jackson missed practice once again on Thursday, so it looks like Tyler Huntley will get another start here. Baltimore has won two of Huntley’s three starts under center, but he’s hardly been the reason why. The Ravens haven’t topped 17 points in any of those three games, and in their loss to the Browns they only mustered three. You can’t give them too much credit for beating up on a struggling Falcons team in Desmond Ridder’s second career start, or for beating the Steelers by two points a few weeks ago in a game where Kenny Pickett was concussed early on and Mitch Trubisky proceeded to throw three interceptions.

Pickett is back healthy now, and Pittsburgh has won each of the last three games that he’s played the majority of. He only has one interception and has taken just three total sacks across those three games. Nobody is really talking about it, but the Steelers’ defense has also clearly made major strides since the return of TJ Watt. He’s made all the difference in the world, and the Steelers have now given up 17 points or fewer in five straight games. This is a revenge spot for Pittsburgh after they lost a heartbreaker to Baltimore few weeks ago, and they’ve still got a chance to ensure Mike Tomlin doesn’t notch his first losing season. Nobody’s been paying any attention because of their abysmal start, but the Steelers are 5-2 in their last seven games, and I’m pretty skeptical of the Ravens right now. The Steelers also make a great teaser leg as you can get them on a 6-point teaser through the key numbers of 3 and 7.

Steelers vs Ravens over/under totals pick: Under 35 (-110)

It’s an AFC North slugfest, so I’ve got to gravitate towards the under even though this total is pretty low. The Steelers have given up 17 points or fewer in five straight games, and the only team to top that recently against them was the Bengals and their elite offense. Needless to say, Joe Burrow isn’t walking through that door for Baltimore. Instead they’ve got Tyler Huntley, who hasn’t shown much of anything in his three recent starts in place of Lamar Jackson.

Huntley is averaging an awful 5.8 yards per attempt, and he has thrown just one touchdown on 91 pass attempts while absorbing six sacks. It’s not even like he’s making up for it on the ground, as he’s averaging just 3.1 yards per rushing attempt. Last week he couldn’t even top 115 yards against Atlanta’s barely-there secondary. It’s not like Kenny Pickett is going to light up the scoreboard either, and even when they won this past week against the Raiders, Pittsburgh still only managed to score 13.
