Things did not go to plan, to put it lightly, in their 23-7 loss to the Vikings and they Wisconsin squad needs to quickly put that game in the rear-view mirror. By contrast, little was expected from the Bears in Week 1 as they went up against a strong 49ers squad, but they defied the odds to win 19-1o in a game that was played in atrocious conditions. Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers expert picks
We’ve got some great NFL picks for this week’s game between the Bears and Packers, including a 2-star selection for our spread selection.
Against the spread pick: Packers -9.5 (-115) over Bears
This game is a prime example of what is commonly referred to as a buy-low, sell-high spot. In this case, we are buying low on the Packers and selling high on the Bears. The Packers were outclassed in Minnesota last Sunday on their way to their second straight season-opening loss after last year’s 38-3 defeat by the Saints. Green Bay returned home the next week and beat up on a divisional foe by 18 points, and we could see a similar outcome this year.
Chicago did well to beat the 49ers in Week 1, but that game was at home and played in extremely sloppy conditions. The inexperience of 49ers QB Trey Lance showed. Chicago is flying high after this upset win, and this is a perfect spot to fade a team the Bears. Despite Green Bay’s slow start offensively, the Packers defense played well in the second half and QB Aaron Rodgers began to develop some familiarity with his young wide receiving corps. With a full week of preparation and a dominant home record against the Bears in his career, look for Rodgers and the Packers to grab an early lead and coast to a comfortable victory.

Over/Under totals pick: Under 41.5 (-105)
This total has continued to fall since it was posted, but that’s for good reason. The Packers still have some things to work out in their passing game. And while Rodgers should have success at home, Green Bay will likely start this game by looking to establish Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon on the ground. Once the Bears have to respect the Packers at the line of scrimmage, then the passing game should open up for Rodgers to find Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson and Randall Cobb on the outside. Green Bay’s secondary was exploited by Minnesota, but the Packers shouldn’t have the same concerns with Justin Fields and the Bears’ meager passing attack. Chicago’s big passing play a week ago was a broken play, and the Bears’ receiving corps is one of the worst in the NFL. Green Bay should be able to contain them on Sunday night.
Player receiving yards prop bet pick: Over 28.5 Aaron Jones receiving yards (-130)
Packers running back Aaron Jones has hit this line in 3 straight games against the Bears. AJ Dillon is now pushing Jones for this starting spot, but it should eat into his rushing carries more than his reception total. If you look how poorly the Green Bay receivers performed in Week 1, it makes sense for them to use Jones in more of a receiving capacity. We should see a short passing game from the Packers and Jones could step up. Chicago ranked 22nd in tackling after Week 1, giving Jones a prime opportunity to break off a lot of yards after the catch.
